A poll to see how many would like the Car of the Month competition revived.

 

Please take into consideration, that there is a fair bit of effort and time required to make the competition run smoothly, organise the trophies etc. Isaac ran the last few and it a decision was made to knock the COTM on the head, due to lack of nominations, votes and general interest.

 

We have had a fair few new members since and some renewed interest.

So get voting, its down to you the members to make the competition work.

Ahhhhh 2 of my favourite zeds there, jimmyTT and Ant_300zx, gibsters is stunning aswell.

I think it should be brought back - just not monthly. Maybe once a quarter or so "COTQ". Would make it less work to organise as well and people would take more interest.

Bring it back, love looking and voting for COTM, and me want another shot at the title.....LOL!!!

i reckon if you make it Car of the Quarter (or something) then it will be a bigger event and have more appeal. 'car of the month's come and go so quickly that you get fed up seeing them! :o

think the poll is speaking for itself, theres alot of people on the site want to see COTM or COTQ happen again.

Just a little off topic, but I notice there are nearly 300 visits to this thread and only about 38 votes, does it mean there have been 300 individual visits from different peeps? or if i view it 3/4 times does it add up the views? just curious :tt2:

If THIS poll got over 100 votes i reckon we could bring it back straight away, alas i doubt it will! I am not trying to be negative but i gave 100% with the comp and tried my best to revive it but it just slid into the dark again and again.

 

The COTQ idea from Phil sounds a bit better if i'm honest, as its not really the effort from the organiser i am bothered about, i did it and i did'nt mind at all, its a good thing to put some effort it and with shrek offering to take it over its no probs at all. The quarter idea sounds better as hopefully it will encourage more member participation.

 

If there are less than 100 votes it just ridiculous seen as i actually opened the voting process up to the registered membership also!!! That is alot of members just not interested in it what so ever!

 

I am happy to go with the flow and if shrek needs any help what so ever (if it goes ahead) i am more than willing to help.

No poll mate, but i would 100% use my vote weather i had a zed or not, theres some crackin cars on hear that i feel deserve to be ackowledged.

 

Come on folks its why you pay a subscription, one of the benfits surely worth voting and getting your zed tidied up to have it appreciated on the site and get a wee trophy is lucky enough.

i agree COTM is to much and so many of the same cars were in the running but COTQ (or "car of the season" IMO) would be better give it 2-3 weeks to get nominations then the rest of the time to vote

IIRC i never saw a COTM competition with more than 100votes anyways (which is prob why it died) so ZX-eyes challenge will be hard to beat :)

if it got this much attention for COTM then it would still be here, i think the most votes ever was 85, pretty pathetic considering how many members we have

 

i think its a waste of time as the first 2 will be great then as usuall it will dwindle away

 

its not the cars, there are some great cars, its the other members voting, it got to a point where people were voting for the person that owned the car not the car itself

 

pmsl, dont get me wrong, i would love to have it back, but we have been here so many times, if members would get involved every week then it would be great

..........However this seems like a good idea. I voted "yes" as I reckon Phil's idea would work for the very reason he and Dave have mentioned. So why not give COTQ a trial run for a couple of quarters and see what interest it generates?

Voted as well. I think the COMQ would work better aswell, giving some of us newbies a chance to get our zeds a bit nearer the mark.
