Hi everyone!

I just noticed that after I start the engine from cold and trying to drive str8 away I get a bit of misfire and loss of power... I think it may be something to do with the o2 sensors. A while ago the headgasket blown and, as I know this can poison the o2 sensors. Also the fuel consumption seems to be a bit high. As I will change the o2 sensors anyway, does any one knows if this ones are good? http://www.zcentre.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?products_id=379

Thank you

If your car's a 1989 - 1993, they'll be fine.

Might be worth speaking to Mr F from MJP and see how much he sells them for.

Hi Lorenzo,

Before you go spending your cash just disconnect both O2 sensors which will give an average default setting at the ecu, then go for a drive.

Alright. thank you!

Hi Lorenzo,

is there a noticeable difference to the engine running when the o2 sensors are disconnected? and do you reconnect them after going for a drive or before, i know its a bit of a silly question.

Its unlikely you feel any difference with them disconnected or not, that is if they are ok, however a faulty sensor that is still in range so the ecu does not see a fault code can cause an unsettled return to idle when de-acelerating as fueling can be effected as the injectors swith back on after the momentry off mode when lifting off the throttle.

It is much better to have the a faulty sensor disconnected as it defaults to a mean setting that albeit a static one gives better overall information to the ecu.

Oh and Lorenzo Genuine Nissan O2 sensors are a little over £100 each but as MPJ hase mentioned the "latest " price is not available till next week.

Do not be tempted to buy ones from E-bay that need the connector splicing in off the old sensors, at best they just do not work with the ecu mapping but at worse they default to over rich at all times and cause all sorts of running issues.

Now its very likely you will get some good reports of non genuine ones been a real cost saver etc, but in the long run they simply are not.

Oh no...I`m not going to buy O2 sensors from e-bay.

I will wait for MPJ and see how much they sell them for.

Anyway I would like to change the O2 sensors...just to be on the safe side.

Thank`s
