Don't want to put a downer on anybody but a lot of people will be dreading Christmas this year. For example, my sister lost her 15 year old 3 son years back and struggles every year when Christmas comes. I will be on my own for christmas as I suffer from depression,I'm single, my parents are going away and my mates will be with their new family's for the holidays. So it's just me, my cats and a frozen turkey..yum!

I do hope everyone who enjoys this time of year has a great one but spare a thought for all those who won't be.

And to ALL the people alone this Christmas, whether they be our Armed Forces on duty, lost a loved one or just get a little down. Try to keep positive, It'll be over soon.

That's a really nice offer, who says the Christmas spirit is dead and gone :santa:

Sometimes I kind of know what you mean mate. Especially when you see adverts on the telly with hundreds of people partying and handing food and presents around and smiling and cheering (although most of it is cheesy b/s! lol). I think the reality (esp. with the credit crunch) is quite different, but I suppose Christmas is what you make of it. I love the snow, I like to hear carols and see pressies under the tree (even if most of them aren't for me!) it reminds me of the excitement when i was a kid and the world was a much happier place. I guess all I can say mate is keep your chin up and dont let the expectations of what Christmas should be get you down. You'll always have friends on here :)

Seconded there!

Top man Vodkashots - that's the true spirit of Christmas and the Club.

And very best wishes to everyone.....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Cheers for the offer mate, that's very kind of you, but I'm fine bought a sh1t load of dvds to watch. I was just sparing a thought for those that hate christmas :blushing:

mate you're a star. This club has given me many laughs (and the occasional zed advice.lol) and is by far the best forum for the best car I've ever been a member of.

:blushing: wasnt just my idea, the misses is as much to blame as me lol

It`s Christmas soon! But since I left home 6 years ago, I have not really enjoy this time of year like I used to! Part of me left in the place I am comeing from. Still, Christmas it`s a time for cheer and to make new plans for the new year to come! I don`t know how old you are but You should try and get out of the house, find some company..I am sure it is much easyer for you than it is for me. You have to keep positive and leave bad experiences behind. The future has to be bright!

I think you've sort of missed my point mate. I mean that there are people out there that don't like this time of year (like yourself) It wasn't meant to come across as I hate christmas. Although I suffer from depression I still laugh and have hope. I don't know you're own situation, just like you don't know mine, however I would never tell somebody that they have it much easier than me, it's not a competition mate.

Funnily enough, i spent xmas on my own last year, went to my mums boxing day, but i have to say that being on my own with the cat was such a nice stress free and peaceful day.

This year i have a new lady, she has 2 kids and so far its been chaos, but i know crimbo day will be a laugh and im looking forward to seeing the boys' faces when they open their prezzies.

I can honestly take it or leave it, a total waste of money you wouldnt normally spend any other time of the year,( apart from on the zed lol) but its the people around you that make xmas what it is.

So dont get stressed or depressed, its like having sex for the first time, its over very quickly:lol:

Chin up and look forward to next year

Being born here doesnt necessarily make it easier to make friends, meaning because we are English, i think it depends on how outgoing your are as a person :flowers:

Well i was born in Germany and grew up there till i was 11, then moved to the UK, my misses was born and raised in the US and only got to the UK in 2002.

Its attitude that defines a person matey, not what job or what they have. your more than welcome to come for Christmas dinner if your stuck :D

Thank you very much! That`s a nice offer. :thumbup1:

Unfortunately my wife does`t feel good (a migrene or something...) so I have made my provisions(two bottles of Jim Beam and a lot of meet). I hope it will be enough...

Thank you very much, again!

Do indeed, she comes from Salt lake city Utah, me and my wife relate to this thread, one of my school mates died this year at the age of 34 from meningitis, my grandad died with in a month of him to prostate cancer. and my misses mum and dad are both no longer with us. so Christmas is a bit of a sensitive side for both of us. mainly for her though due to the fact my mum and dad are still alive, and can see their gran children, they will never have the pleasure of meeting my misses mum and dad. so although she has me and the children, she still feels on her own.

Its ok, we have a different way of looking at it this Christmas, its the first Christmas as a family where our daughter will realise about it. last Christmas she was to young to understand and still needed help unwrapping her prezzies.

This year we can do the Santa thing of putting the prezzies under the tree on Christmas eve and watching her face when she unwraps them and see what we got her. :D

Cant wait lol

Our time as parents has arrived this time around. so should be a uplifting experience for us both.
