well the zed is coming off the road this weekend for a bit of a tidy up and the 400sx project is being sidelined for 6 months or so.

 

im doing a manual conversion, cam belt change, plenum polish and engine clean up so i figure ill just pull the engine and box together. i might also ditch the hicas and give the bay a bit of a respray.

 

i also have a 99 spec bumper to go on, a bonnet and wings to respray, and a rusty patch on the back. i was also going to do the bits of roof black and remove the stone chip around the car.

 

i will be doing the work myself and can spray 2k

 

it seems i might aswell respray the whole car while im at it

 

the car is currently red

 

I love white cars and particualy 300s in white, the mrs thinks it should be black.

 

any thoughts or pictures for inspiration?

Black always for me but it is a pita to keep clean.

 

almost every car i have had has been black lol!!!

 

I also think you cannot beat red when it is all nice and fresh :cool:

go for the gunmetal grey pal,,,the rb5 scoooby colour,,reds nice but a nightmare if oxidised in the sun,do remember we are under alert for an increase in global warming....

I'm in the same boat - mine's red and I'm not really a fan of it - so my options were white or black, I think either would look good, but certainly grey would look nice.

i am a fan of gray but imo on a zed you need a bold colour that makes a big statement. a bright yellow really suits them but im not brave enough for that.

 

the biggest attaction of black is that all the trim matches, it does show up every little dent though

......I'd keep with the red. I've never been a fan of red cars in general but a 300zx does look good in red. And, according to the "Enthusiast's Companion" book, red was "the designer's choice" of colour:tt2:

Mine is being done the new Lexus pearl white, as soon as it is completed I will post some pictures.

im not sure what to go for, might go for the pug 406 burgundy with cream leather interior. or with what the misses wants which is bay-side blue, as i do have a fondness for that color. or just stick with the gray its got at the moment, not sure.

well ive been chatting with the mrs today and we have decided. i thought white and she thought black so its going to be gray. same colour as alot of the new lambos

excellent choice pal,,,,,will look very nice with black wheels, side mirrors,roof cross memebers and black tints,,,whilst ur at it,,yellow calipers,99 spec rear lights.

hhmmm im not sure. I think the car makes the colour. if it was on a saxo it would look pants lol!!

i may be edging towards the black option again today

My dad thought my grey zed was a lovely colour and I liked it too. End of the day mate, you will be the one living with it, so it's really what you think looks best (or the wife!)
