Hi Guys,

This may sound like a daft question but does anyone know how to fit a gaiter to the bottom of a shift knob so it isn't lose and slips down? There has to be a way of attaching it so it looks stock but I'll be bugg**d if I know how!!

A point in the right direction would help.

Many Thanks

usually come with a little tie, you could always sow/glue some elastic in the neck of the gaiter.

There is usually a leather tie ( like a shoelace) or some come with a metal locking collar, but not the ones off ebay, you just get the gaitor.

You could try velcro, stick a piece to the shifter, just under the knob and some on the inside of the gaitor and press together, that might work.

Or someone will be along with a better idea lol

Yeah... I got one off ebay (that'll teach me) - Any idea where I could get one of these locking collars Graham?

Not sure mate, ive still got an auto, but will be looking for one myself when i get it converted. Probably best to google it or ebay

Cheers

Graham

I done this before, got to look out for the hidden screws, end up taking most of the centre section out bud to get in at the gaitor, or well i did.lol!

Need to unscrew the bolts in the glovebox aswell.

on my old car, i jsut used to put a tiny bit of super glue on the top of the gaitor, then stuck it to the nob

Yeah - place cable tie over stick - place neck of gaiter (inside-out kinda) over stick - bring cable tie up and tie the gaiter to the stick tightly - fold the gaiter down and secure the perimeter down as usual right?
