started off a few days ago first off the pod that has the heater controls ect wouldnt come on so had no wipers heaters ect lit up with the lights but no controls after a quick look around the fuses it came back on all was fine. tonight drove the car to and from various shops all night the started to rain put the wipers on now they wont switch off unless i turn the ignition off am i right in thinking that its the little box near the bonnet release that needs changed? lastly stopped off at the local shop on the way home on on pulling away again the hicas light came on steering went heavy got home switched the car off unloaded the shopping went to move it into the drive but it wont start its acting like how it did if you tried to start it when it was in drive on the auto box before i had my manual put in any ideas the car is driving me mad

first off, check all your fuses, especially down by the drivers foot well, sounds like water ingress to me and its shorting somewhere. next you could try a ecu reset, unplug your battery for about an hour. though this will put the ecu into learning mode once plugged back in.

But your main task is to find out whats causing the short. so check your fuse box for water, both under the bonnet and at the drivers foot well.

Id hazard a guess that it might be your targa roof drain pipe disconnected halfway down and is leaking water into the main fuse box in the foot well.

reset the ecu today but no change will have a check at the fuses tomorrow cheers

whilst you reset the ECU, did you check for any error codes?

One of the first things anyone should do when the car ain't doing as it should, check for codes, takes just 10mins :)

ok got the car going again 2nd fuse in on the bottom had blown so thats one part done also done an ecu check got code 55 now just the wipers still always wanting to stay on all the time

ok back from another night of driving and again it wont start the fuse has blown again seems to blow when i reverse park the car the fuse goes and the hicas light comes on. thats 3 fuses now the wiper thing i still dont know will try and investigate further this week but why would it blow fuses when i reverse park now that i think of it thats whats happened on the 3 occasions

Could be something in either the reverse light or inhibitor circuits shorting out.

I will try looking at the gobbledegook wiring diagrams on the online manual, see if that points to anything, just dont hold your breath :)

yeah was thinking maybe something to do with the reverse lights since iv had the manual conversion done just strange how it has only just started to happen at the same time as the wiper fault think moisture in that fuse box could be the problem had a check and did feel a few droplets of water so hopefully get a chance this week to have a dig around see where thats coming from cheers for looking though
