Hi - I have removed my HICAS completely - should I remove the HICAS ECU in the passenger footwell as well?

Is it just a case of unplugging - discarding - or are there any little resistors to solder in - or Main ECU 'modifications' required to keep it happy?

just remove it, but the steering will be heavier which is how i like it, so its up to u, im thinking of putting that on a switch also for light/heavy steering.

When is your next track day - and have you had one in the wet yet? ;-))

As j1mmytt mentions, the powersteering will be heavy if you completely unplug the ECU, this becuase the PS is also controlled by this HICAS ECU.

There are 2 plugs, if you leave the smallest of the two plugged in (from the top of my head), the HICAS will be disabled, but PS will still work as normal

its underneath the Main engine ECU. But as lymon mentioned its a Shared PAS and Hicas ecu, so you dont want to remove it.

Unplug the larger connector and it disables only the hicas part. But tbh..why bother.

i suspect your compensating for overly light steering from a MPH convertor though ?

Yeah thats true but it actually stiffens it up alot more.... try it, above 70mph its a huge difference, more solid feel.

Im doing this HICAS delete aswell.

Am i right in thinking that if i unplug it from the ECU, that the HICAS light wont appear on the dash and it wont have any effect on anything else?

yeah it got rid of that annoying hicas light and like above steering is stiffer. no other effects.

Nice one. Cheers Jimmy.

I was stripping out all the pipes the other night and noticed that they feed into what looks like a control valve at the back, with an electrical connector.

I was a little bit apprehensive about disconnecting it but since unplugging the ECU will make it dead anyway, im a bit more at ease.

Yeah. Bit of a b**ger getting to the bracket that holds the front pipes to the top of the front subframe. Thank goodness for ratchet spanners :D

Did you swap the pumps over aswell or did you just loop the pipes?

Me tooo - must have been 10-15lbs of metal junk!

out of interest, what does an NA Z use to control the PS?

The NA has a PAS ECU, in the same place as the TT Hicas version.

Yes sir...

GREAT thanks.:duffer: for future refererence then the red arrow is the hicas connection and the blue arrow is the powersteering.
