Never ever liked the MK5 Astra repeaters. Look tacky, but hell, that's done well. :)

more work has been done since the last thread, removed all doors, tailgate, bonnet ready to be primed, after we stripped them.

had a couple of minor repairs to body, nothing to drastic.

new front bumper on order

One question though...why hasn't the filler flap been taken off??

  • Author

cor you dont miss much Mr Funky Si, just easier to flat down on rather than off,but its coming off for painting .Bumper arriving tomorrow so were offer it up to see if it fits.Rear bumper needs the treatment to rid it of all that stone chip stuff, rear spoiler is being prepared for primer, keep you posted guys.

bumper has now arrived and the fitment was pretty good, needed a few minor tweeks to get perfect. might get some colour around the shuts next week, when i can get over the price of the paint (top secret).

i have a standard front panel so the vented panel in the pictures will be replaced.

THats a really nice front bumper!!

Get a twin exhaust exhaust tho mate suits the zed so much better!

  • Author

thanks gary im happy with the bumper too it fits really nice compared to some of the other bumpers we have used in the past.

i think the exhaust looks good, came with the car plus its hks super dragger so its not a cheap exhaust system.

I do love the scarab front and that centre panel, Its exactly how my last zed was with viper front wings aswell, looks the business mate cant wait to see the paint job:bow:

  • Author

thanks its slowly taking shape, i like both front panels but i want to keep it standard looking so i have opted for that panel.

ill keep posted when the paint is near i promise

what are you using to prep the plastic before paint.

i have a 99 spec waiting to go on and i can spray 2k but im not sure if i should be using some sort of plastic primer or just use a good quality 2 part etch primer. can you help

  • Author

just use a good quality 2 part primer but you can use a plastisiser in with the primer and paint would prevent cracking,( make sure pastic bumper is keyed up well, before priming). i hope this helps you out
