Just wondering, if i drop the rear rear subrame off, (looking to replace the subframe bushes) Will i need a jig or anything to position it back correctly?

I've spoken with a few people who said they'd need to jig their cars if they dropped the subframe and i just wondered if it's the same thing with ours.

Don't need any jig, just undo the 4 nuts (remove the prop, handbrake cables & put the calipers up out of the way) then drop the thing on the floor.

Have fun doing the bushes, I've done a few & they're a pain in the bum.

Thanks.

I know how to drop it off, i was a little concerned about putting it back on squint.

The bushes aren't going to be a problem. I've got a very well equiped workshop at work so im sure 10,000tonnes of hydraulic pressure will push them out :hyper::hyper:

That should get them out :smash::smash:

I end up cutting the centers out with a hole saw the splitting the outer cage.

All the tracking & wheel alignment it done with the arms, so as long as you don't remove them everything should be as it was when you took the frame off.

Remove what? The arms?

I dropped mine, not all the way out though but enough to get into the brake pipes.

Theres nothing that I could see that would give any problems refitting it.

So im just aswell to replace the brake pipes while the subframe is dropped?

If they havent been done, I would highly recommend it, then paint the fookers to give them enough protection to last 20 years :)

Ive no record of them having been changed so im going to add them to the list of things to do.

Does the N/A Subframe replace the TT Subframe with no Modifications or does it need to be tinkered with? If its an straight easy swap will have to take the one off the breaker down the road!!!

My main reason for dropping the subframe is to change the bushes.

Anyone got any opinions on which would be best to replace the stock ones with?

Solid - http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_8&products_id=144&osCsid=5e3d1d71bf8a9fcef0fd49522de8d2cf

I havent fitted either, but if it was me I would go for the poly bushes. They will be far stiffer than standard bushes but at least they will offer up some shock absorbing qualities

For Suspension stuff you cannot beat Driftworks

Funny you should mention that, i've been in contact with the DW team about one of the "kits" they sell. They've said that the r32 gtst kit fits the z32. Happy Days

I'm right in the middle of doing mine, using the E.S. ones. I'm refurbing the whole subframe and swapping all the oem bushes for E.S. ones, I'll then be installing powertrix rear adjustable camber arms and a HICAS lockout bar. Should be sweet when I'm done..

Both cars use the same Hicas system so naturally everything is the same and all fits :)
