are the cat's meowing

what condition are your turbo's in? Normally, removing cats can lead to exposing turbos on their way out.

IIRC, pre-1992 cars have a different set of emissions thresholds for the mots They allow for higher levels since catalytic converters hadnt been made mandatory yet.

If i understand what has been established in the past correctly, then your car will pass an MOT no probs as it does'nt actually require the cats. It is better for performance however if you have weak turbo seals it will see them off pretty sharpish and then you're into another immediate expense.

HTH :)

Never looked into it myself Chris, so i'm not of much help to you, however i have heard good things about 2fast2cool2 and have infact purchased something from them and i found the quality and service was good :)

Ive got the 2fast2cool ones, good quality and a good fit and will give you a little more power than the cybox ones as they replace the pipes right to the turbo's, cybox ones only go as far as the original turbo elbows. Any 300zx up to august 95 will pass an mot without cats as long as it is running properly, pre 95 z's are tested to older emission standards of 3.5% co and 1200ppm hydrocarbons at natural idle.

Pre-95???? I thought the change-over date for the non-cat / cat limits was in 92.

for most cars yes but the 300zx isnt listed in emisions database for cat equiped cars so gets the older emissions test , all cars after 95 get a cat test and even then there are some circumstances that would mean an older style test ie a 98 car with an engine from an older car as long as the owner can prove the age of the engine.

is yor car a manual or auto?? i got these decat pipe on my auto & they dont fit around the auto box :-(

its an auto pipe was close to gearbox on pass side but didnt hit, try leaving all the bolts slightly slack when fitting this will allow abit of adjustment while fitting then finaly tighten all bolts working frm front to back. hth
