Hi Rich, I installed push start a few years ago, its very easy to fit and only takes about half an hour.

I`ve got no tips other than a few pics of where mine is located, but read the instructions and `easy peazy` They work great and look quite good too :D

Why hasn't SOMEONE wired one of these into the top of a gear stick - SOOOOO James Bond!!!

where do you get them from? (yes im being lazy lol)

i might do that, wire it into the top of the gear stick, as I've got one of them crappy after market, blue LED lit ones (the ones with the ring of LED's around the edge and the push button on top)

Thanks mate, dont suppose you got pics of where you wire them into the ign system? i'tl save me totally stripping the dash out only to find it need 1 piece removed (which is the norm with me!!)

Rich

you still have to have the key dont you?

and also have turn it to the ignition point aswel?

think i want 1 aswel now :hyper:

I've got one fitted without a key, the ignition is turned on and off via a kill switch then push the button to start it. Looks good but two problems, 1 its not exactly anti theft and 2 I've wired it to the blank pannel under the headunit and the amount of times my mates have turned it off while trying to turn the volume up lol

I started fitting one of these in my ash tray but havent figered out how to wire it up and not bypass my alarm

Hi Guys, Yes I still have to turn the key to turn on ignition and then press to start!!, I wired it this way for security purposes, but that is how the instructions tell you, i got mine from demon tuning on e-bay, i think it was £20 but they have come down in price now!!

oops, just bought one... thanks Daz ;)

Nice one Bazzler!! ;) Happy pushing :D

be cool to use it instead of a key,

if you have the imobiliser/fob, surely thats the same as having a key?

ideal be to have the fob/imobiliser, then after youv pushed your fob,

then you can push the switch to start it. that would look better

I did mine on the steering wheel, 2 x push buttons, one horn and other start. I kept imobiliser/alarm etc so you turn key normal but nothing happens on the start bit. I always thought it was cool. Still need to sale my wheel if anyone wants it!

Mine's been part fitted for a couple of years as I can't figure out which wire from the key barrel I'm supposed to link it to - too many wires to choose from for a non-electrics person like me:( although I have been told that it shouldn't affect the alarm/immobiliser, which is nice to know.

Hi Guys, if your still struggling i will take a few snaps of the wiring tommorrow if wanted??

DaZ;)

surly if you gotta put the key in, and turn it to 'on' whats the harm in twisting it again to start it lol. the kill switch is the better idea, hide the kill switch under ya seat/or somewere out of the way switch that 'on' then press the button it would be better, but then if you need to open your car with a key anyway why not just use it, its kinda a means to look cool than something that would gain a advantage. and not to mention hassle maybe :nelson:

Would be very much appreciated, I could follow most of the basic info I got with my 'button' but it merely says to conect one of the wires into the ignition wire behind the barrel but I have no idea which one of the bunch that is!! Have to say the way things are at the moment doubt I'll get the chance to have a go at sorting it until my Christmas break - assuming it isn't too cold or wet to be working on the drive, but photos would be a great help.

Cheers for the offer,

Steve

Here you go!!! not great pictures, but this is how i wired it!!

Unplug the connector from the back of the ignition switch,

Identifiy the black and white thick cable and splice with the red one from the button start.

and the thick white cable splice with the other red cable from the button start.

Easy,:D

Nice photo's , thanks, can you tell me, do you connect the 2 wires from the button, straight to the ignition plug.

I have a kit that supplies a relay, and requires a lead from the starter solenoid to it, so i was just wondering if i can just go straight to the wiring?

Hi Bud, as far as i can remember, yes! you just connect the 2 wires from the button straight to the ignition plug, basically, the button does the job as the extra turn on the key, But i will check again tommorrow as i dont remember fitting a relay?

Daz:)
