first off, i know nothing about wheels except they should be round

one of my valve caps is stuck onto the valve

i went to a tyre place to get the valve replaced, however they said i will need to source the metal right angle bit as all their valves stick out the front of the wheel and mine come from the rim behind the spokes

these are my wheels:

they say rays in the middle

is this true? where would i get one? what other info do i need to know in order to get one?

News to me i thought they were all the same:confused:

do you have a close up pic??

I recon he couldnt be arsed taking off the tyre and putting it back on??

having worked in the tire industry before, id say the guy is lazy and couldn't be bothered, unless you have custom valves on it, all he needs to do is put you wheel on the tire machine (after deflating it obviously) take your tire off the wheel, and cut the other valve out and put a new one in. put the tire back on, inflate it, and re-balance it.

From what i can tell in the pictures, yours are not "extra special" and look rather normal lol

EDIT, and the position of the valve looks about right for a after market wheel, and should be pretty much a standard job, and whats this "metal right angle bit" hes babbling on about? having changed over 1000 tires on cars, even tires in the 20" mark, Ive yet to see a normal valve need some special tool.

attached to the rim behind the spokes, metal tube with right-angle bend. the end not attached to the rim is the bit i attach my tyre pump to - or i would if the cap wasnt coroded on

i had this problem with my normal looking valves. Took it to a tyre place and they let the tyre down and took it off, and my valves were the bolt through kind. But the hole in the rim was about half the diameter of the standard valve size. So the actual valves taperd down to fit through the rim. Couldnt find them anywere so in the end had to drill the rims and put some competition bolt through valves in. So be warey of there standard looking valves.
