Hi

The polished hard pipes that are available, as i see it there are the stainless steel ones and the chromed ones, any body know what base metal is used on the chromed set, and are the ss ones worth the extra.

Another quickie, i've got a polished Plenum, has anybody chromed one, and if so, how much, is it worth it, is it a big difference

Thanks

Richard

The chromed sets are going to be either aluminium or more likely steel. The stainless pipes (mirror polished) will never rust or corrode and if they get scratched they can be re-polished to perfection. Worth the extra dosh in my opinion. £240 + p&p direct from DTA-Motorsport (UK) with choice of silicone coupler colours. T-Bolt set available at an additional £40.

Dont bother with the 2fast2cool ones on Ebay. they are dog turd. Dont fit and are dull and nasty.

Glad I read this was about to order some

i`ve been using 2fast2cool for over 3 years for various cars and never had a problem.but i`m sure if they dont fit they would replace them or give you your money back.

Had the DTA/Smithy ones on my silver Zed and were great/perfect.

For my last Zed I bought the 2fast2cool ones and the metal pipes didn't fit on all of them and also the jubilee clips were poor and 4 of them the wrong size.

Also the finish was really dull like brushed aluminium, really naff.

Yeah ive used them for loads of Zed stuff over the years and the hard pipes are the only thing I'd say stay well away from. Told them they didn't fit and the jubilee clips were the wrong size and was told tough about the pipes and they would send replacement clips that never arrived.

Here's the difference in pipes.

What do you think about the Z1motorsports pipes from USA, prices are reasonable including postage.

chrome plated aluminium $257 (£160)

Stainless steel - $284 (£175)

Chrome ones a bit pricey but the SS ones are not bad

Any one had them? how do they compare with smithy's/DTA
