Before you laugh - it works out pretty well - I will just have to pump some sealent around where the cables enter/exit - just in case - but otherwise

I tested blasting it with a high pressure washer and it remained dry inside.

And I have drilled a new drain hole so that it does not become a spare washer bottle ;-))

 

Anyone else got any pics of where they moved their fuse box: I know a lot of you hide it under the chrome/carbon Smithy slam panel but.... ;)

Abit inconveiniant for checking fuses,and I would also be worried about the cover coming off and heading into your cambelt.

Nope - there is plenty of room with everything re-assembled matey - and the lid will be cable tied of course ;-)

...bit dark thats all - maybe some neons.... :-!

plus its going to get more heat there!!! i would put it back as its better where nissan intended it to be

Hey guys -it's a RED car - and it was rusty (powder coated actually) - what can I say lol ;-)

 

Everything fits - no re-plumbing required.

 

The temp down there is cooler as it actually benefits from direct air cooling - ELECTRIC FAN - rather than sitting in a heat trap at the top/front of the bonnet. I'm gonna go with it - see how it pans out.

 

 

 

It is pointless making engine skins and cleaning up the bay if one leaves a dog ugly fuse-box completely visible. I plan on it being a show car as well as a daily so...

I have a spare fuse box i think i'll keep it to one side for you when yours gets trashed lol

would it not be better tryng to fit it under the headlight panel, bit akward t check fuses but if there is an aftermarket filter on, there is plenty of room

Has anyone done this? if so a few pics would be great to fully understand where to put it. I have posted in the "help and advice forum" to see if anyone else has any ideas. Car is just going in to be painted with the engine out. We are trying to clean the inner wings up and it would be a shame to put it back there.

Well to TBH most of my engine is still in the post!!! :hyper: So I can't give a valid review in terms of every day driving. I really don't see why not (and it forms a big part of my engine compartment re-organisation - so I am pretty committed to it) - so I am going to go with it and see how it pans out.

 

Aircon has been deleted, no viscous fan - bags of room for it.

 

It fits in great with the other changes I have made (A LOT OF CHANGES body & mechanical) and there will be nothing left standard by the time i have done so....

I know a couple of people have moved them to sit under the added slam panel, I guess that works for them but then they have to remove the panel to change a fuse? I have LED lighting to illuminate the fuse box and I am going to be able to access it from above or below so... I am happy with that.

It does not stretch that far - one would have to extend every connection in and out - not a nice job. :smash:

Stella - you can't stretch it that far - one would have to lengthen every wire in and out - not good ;-))

i thought after al the fine work that youve done, extending a few wires would be a walk in the park lol
