Want to repaint my Z. A grand master plan or just a pipe dream....not decided yet

Well, as days go by, I am seriously thinking about putting some money aside for an eventual colour change. Most likely a Nissan colour. I like the KH6 pearl white a lot. Glows nicely in the sun.

BUT, the longer I keep it, the more I fancy a change. I want something a little more crisp and/or vivid.

Body will have some very minor changes. 99-spec front bumper being the main one. The rest will be as-was except with the addition of UK spec glass.

....and, shock horror, maybe some side skirts. I only really like a few. Kaminari and Stillen being the main two. Now.....this might sound odd as I can't stand the wings west kit for the Z. It's nearly as ugly as the Veilside stuff.....BUT, I've always wanted to mod their skirts to get rid of that awful and pointless little vent in the side. The skirts themselves (minus the vent) are actually quite nice and sit just below the swage line. Mate that with a 99-front and it would work well. The 99 front has a different angle than the stock bumper on the dropsides and sits flatter on the sides than the original bumper. Because of that, the contour of the sill sections aren't quite as much of a match as they could be. So, Wings west skirts without the fieldmouse vent would work well IMO.

I did a little edit....

The colours....well....of course, Bayside blue...

Or possibly the super white pearl of the new 370Z (which I think is called Glacia pearl white). I like the Lexus pearl more, but want to keep the colours Nissan.

Yeah, loads of pics coming. I've been requested to take photos of the IMSA 300zx driven by Steven Millen, so I'll make sure I have them. It's Znationals held at Z1 Motorsports.

Excellent Si, look forward to them

wouldnt like to see si banned, but i also wouldnt want anyone feeling they aint welcome on the forum

Allan (StellaZ) has made some good points for all parties in this thread.

Let's remember that this thread was originally started by FunkySi to gauge our opinions on what colour change, if any, he should consider for his Z.

I have deleted all unnecessary posts, regardless of whom they were made by. In addition I have edited a couple of posts to remove unnecessary content, or references to said deleted posts.

The moderators have no intention of hitting the ban button at the moment; we also have nothing against friendly banter, however please keep things on topic otherwise our intentions may change!

If that's still ok Si it would be appreciated, cheers. No worries if not though :)

By the way...not too sure of the blue! Went to look at a Limted Edition Honda S2000 in a Grand Prix white (with Red Leather interior) the other day and it looked the business...it's not a colour I'd previously considered but it really swayed me. ;)
