Want to repaint my Z. A grand master plan or just a pipe dream....not decided yet

Well, as days go by, I am seriously thinking about putting some money aside for an eventual colour change. Most likely a Nissan colour. I like the KH6 pearl white a lot. Glows nicely in the sun.

BUT, the longer I keep it, the more I fancy a change. I want something a little more crisp and/or vivid.

Body will have some very minor changes. 99-spec front bumper being the main one. The rest will be as-was except with the addition of UK spec glass.

....and, shock horror, maybe some side skirts. I only really like a few. Kaminari and Stillen being the main two. Now.....this might sound odd as I can't stand the wings west kit for the Z. It's nearly as ugly as the Veilside stuff.....BUT, I've always wanted to mod their skirts to get rid of that awful and pointless little vent in the side. The skirts themselves (minus the vent) are actually quite nice and sit just below the swage line. Mate that with a 99-front and it would work well. The 99 front has a different angle than the stock bumper on the dropsides and sits flatter on the sides than the original bumper. Because of that, the contour of the sill sections aren't quite as much of a match as they could be. So, Wings west skirts without the fieldmouse vent would work well IMO.

I did a little edit....

The colours....well....of course, Bayside blue...

Or possibly the super white pearl of the new 370Z (which I think is called Glacia pearl white). I like the Lexus pearl more, but want to keep the colours Nissan.

what i dont get is why do an old car up like its a new one?the money you will spend respraying the one you have for that and the sale of ur current 300 would buy you a new spec 300zx with all the new spec bumpers lights etc.

Si likes the way his car looks but wants a different colour that is all, he doesnt like the 99 bits that he can get for his car, only the bits that are on there at the moment.

I think if I do change, it'll be to the 370Z pearl white. So it'll look as it did. Just with a lighter shade.

I decided against anyway a few days back. It's a crap photoshop anyway. Legrath's looks ace. Will just go for the other pearl white. Super white pearl if I do go for another repaint.

Si, go for the bay-side blue if your changing color, no point respraying just for a lighter look, not many would notice unless you pointed it out.

Si after seeing the pics in blue i must say i dont like it one bit. can you photoshop your car in the silver like mine. I would love to see that.

Lets keep this on track now all, as said everyone has there own (OPINION) on what a good Z32 looks like, however we do seem to be going round in circles a bit here this thread was started by Si to gauge opinion on paintwork

Si although i initially went for the blue i am leaning more towards the super white pearl now :)

Yup, super white pearl is lovely. Z1 Motorsports have a 370Z that they are modifying which is in glacier white pearl. I will be making my mind up when I fly out there tomorrow. :)

I have, although Georgia's under water right now. Horrendous weather they've had. But as if by magic, most of it's cleared. Should be in the 30s with sunny spells. :)

Yeah, loads of pics coming. I've been requested to take photos of the IMSA 300zx driven by Steven Millen, so I'll make sure I have them. It's Znationals held at Z1 Motorsports.

not a great first post, but i dont see why it recieved the response it did from simon, was a reasonable question

First post and your brain falls out. Bucket of fail for you. A, it doesn't need 'doing up' and B, with attitudes like that, no wonder there are so many shit examples of Z32s around!!!

to be honest after that remark im not suprised he carried on with his opinions, not really a great way to welcome any new members of the forum, maybe he didnt realise how you and others felt about your car

i also recall reading in this thread about the guy with the green seats, i found that incindent totaly uncalled for, the guy was bullied off the site for what he did to his car, it was totally out of order and i think a few people should have at least got warnings for the way they behaved on the forum

also, to my knowledge it isnt a mod or comittee member winding you's up, after the response he has recieved on this forum i would have felt the same way

p.s, i havent got anything against si as a person, just think ometimes his reply's arent thought out very well and he needs to be reminded of that before he gates banned, i fr one would like to see a few more enthusiasts on this forum

maybe an apology from both parties may be inorder
