While at work tonight I had to go outside and move one of our trains, while walking in the dark (with a Head Lamp) I stumbled and legs and arms went in all directions, and I ended up in a heap, thinking to myself "****, that hurt!"........ and "I'm glad no one saw me do that!" ;)

Now I can joke about it because that's the way I am, but on looking back at it, it was a stupid thing to do, but also so easily done. Now I have really hurt my foot, I also drove home, which didn't do me any favours at all, as it's my left foot that took all the fall, and was a real pain to keep pressing the clutch pedel (EVERY bloody traffic light was sodding RED  )

Anyway, I've taken some VERY strong pain killers, so I'll see what it's like in the morning, if it's still killing me I might pop over to the hospital and get it checked out.

shit...... u best keep on with the pain killers... anti inflammatory's... and keep it elevated if ya can... u probably best hope it broke than torn all the ligaments bcoz i did that around me ankle... very painful... (my foot was barely attached to me leg lol) the doctor said it would've been less pain if i had broken it lol... b careful with it tomoro coz u might forget and put full weight on it when u wake up and go over on it (as i did lol)

Oh dear Dave... hope its nothing serious - I've done that sort of thing several times at football and struggled driving for days - but never been broken. So hopefully you've just twisted or sprained it.

Cheers guys,

Well I'm off to the hospital in abit, but I've got a dentist appointment first, and I refuse to pay for not turning up ;), so I'll get it checked out later.

It's still very painfull this morning, was OK once I found the right position in bed over night (my foot I mean ;) )

If it's anything serious I'll have to see if work can get me a automatic hire car, as there is now way I'm missing out on the overtime I've got booked.... that money is for Eliza :D

Don't know! I've got an appointment on Friday morning at the Fracture clinic, so we'll see.

Means I can't drive........ Can't drive, can't get to work for the overtime...... no overtime, no money for Eliza's bodywork!! :(

First thing my boss said when i rang him was "So you wasn't walking on the walkways then?".... thanks for the sympaphy! I was doing the job that I'm paid to do, which means you can't always use the walkways because that's not where you want to be! Bloody typical, they're already on the defensive!

Well , today I, eventually, received an automatic hire car ;)

It's a VERY nice Volvo V70, 2.4 Diesel Estate (http://www.volvocars.com/uk/All-Cars/Volvo-V70/Pages/default.aspx) with loads of toys..... mmmm I could get very used to this :)

So I'm back at work tomorrow, which was my choice as long as they supply me with a hire car, which they now have, so at least I can still earn my overtime on Saturday. I'd prefer to return to work anyway, i can sit down n the office all the time and be waited on hand and foot :D ...... cant stand anymore daytime TV!

Sorry to read this Dave. You sound the same as me, couldnt bear to be cooped up in the house all day !

Try and rest up at the weekends fella !

Alan..........

Sorry to hear about the fracture Dave, but its good that you're now mobile cos we wanna see Eliza again

Well, an update ;)

As you can tell I've still been coming in here as normal, as well as going to work, thanks to them hiring me an automatic (firstly the very nice Volvo V70, but was replaced by a crap Pug 308 this week).

Well they said the cast would stay on for 3 weeks as, apparently, I hadn't fractured it but i had pulled the ligaments instead. That time period came two weeks ago so i went back, had the cast off, but was told that it needed to go back in a cast for a further two weeks.

Went back this morning, had it off (the cast! ;) ) and was told that it was actually fractured (would of been nice to be told one way or another properly in the first place!) but I can now finish my recuperation without a cast on! So I'm hobbling around using one crutch just to steady myself while the muscles strengthen themselves.

Thanks for all of the well wishes, it's appreciated

It'll be nice to be able to get on with some of the jobs I've wanted to do with Eliza, but couldn't :D

I'd say that having the 308 was probably the most depressing part of this whole situation! Peugeots are just getting uglier and uglier! The hatch is bad, but the estate is revolting. :hurl: It looks like a hemmeroid on wheels. Rumour has it, the Peugeot design team went out for lunch in 1998, and never came back...

Glad you're on the mend!

I cut mine off myself in September but it was one right up to the hip as I fractured my knee falling off my bike. Right pain in the ass....

Well at least you can sleep now and go for a piss without crawling LOL
