the hydraulic systems on the aircraft i work with (such as an a320) have operating pressures of around 3000psi, the new a380 has hydraulic systems that run @ 6000psi. even @ 3000psi, if there is a pinhole in a supply pipe, the fine leak jet could quite easily cut through some pretty hefty materials, your fingers would be cut off like butter...

 

the other day i found an interesting little fact about the new vw golf engine. the modern vw golf deisel engine injectors have a delivery pressure of 1800bar!!! that is not a typo, it is indeed over 26,000 PSI

its a known fact that the 3 litre bmw diesel engines high pressure fuel rails can slice through ya fingers aswell

I know all this. :)

 

I've seen the damage it can do to people's hands! Cuts through flesh like a laser, but it can't be sewn up again due to fluid contamination. So it has to be left open.

im sure the brake system (sbc system) on the W211 mercedes benz E-class, the line pressure is about 140 bar - 2000 psi

lol, the zed steering rack runs at 1200psi which is a fair old amount it has to be said! Just hope i tightened those pipes up!

more aircraft facts joel...next time you get a ryan air one in that flys out of john lennon at 6.45am every morning right over my house could you put a note on his dash board telling him unless he reduces power at 2000ft over big bri's house ime going to kick his dick in and report his flight details to those crazy arabs..is it al-queda???:mad:

ryanair have built their own hangar next door to us now so we dont really see them anymore :dance:

 

though, it will give me great pleasure to attach your message to a brick and launch it over the fence into 1 of their 737 cockpit windows! any other airline would probably be higher by the time they got over your house, but because ryanair cram in as many people as they can they normally weigh more lol... they have even experimented removing the rear galley and toilet to put more seats behind the rear doors.

 

count yourself lucky hes at 2000ft by the time he goes over your house, if i threw a stone from my house, id hit some1 @ check in! as i work nights, when im on shift, il use any excuse to do full power ground runs just to keep kaz awake muhaHahHAa :smw: then i get a text saying 'shut the f*** up ffs'!!
