Hello,

How tricky is it to fit a Scarab bumber from Zcentre? It doesn't look like it has any fittings or bolt holes - and I'm not much of a bodyman...

Cheers.

You have to fit the metal mounts and brackets from your stock bumper onto the new bumper. Then you would need to drill the extra holes where it bolts to the wings.

But, as with any Fibreglass kit you can expect fitment issues. Best left to a bodyshop if your not experienced yourself. I'd personally never fit a fibreglass front bumper.

Cheers for the advice.

I've been looking for urethane bumpers for ages, but they are a little more pricey though probably betterh.

this is the other one i was thinking of, which is urethane.

am wanting to reuse all my lights.

I would save up for the urethane one. I have the Scarab (E-bay one not Zed centre one) and my body man said it was a pig to fit especially the line where it joins the wings. It also chips and cracks really easily unlike the urethane one.Mine has been on two years and is already looking tatty.

Gotcha. sounds like some good advice there...

dan.:D

I'm almost tempted to sell my scarab and buy that!

I've had a scarab on my previous zed and one knock shattered the mounting points and fractured the paintwork in a big spider web pattern.

Dammit, more expense but great link cheers buddy :D

Cheers for the advice.

That's the same place I bought mine from. I believe there is just the one mould in urethane (ie this'll be the same bumper you can buy from Z1 Motorsports, amongst others, too!) and it does require some work to get it 'perfect' - a little trimming on the edges, some smoothing and sanding (my bodyshop spent 14 hours in total on mine), but it is a pretty good mould and looks brilliant when fitted properly! And, naturally, with the piece of mind and flexibility of urethane! Definitely worth the time and money i.m.o. ;)

The general supplies of F/G body panels and bumpers is a very very poor quality and without going into detail a certain company has an almighty cheek to except us to fit some of the shite that gets sold from them...ive tried in the past to fit a bumper that was at least 10mm out in the inside corners and never even came close to following the lines of the leading edge of the wings:(
