my son has a volvo 340 1.7 (drift car :wack: :D) and he was wondering if he could fit the oil cooler from a zed onto it. from the breaker i have an oil cooler from a manual twin tubo. can he just simply cut the oil feed line in half and plumb the sides into the ends on the oil cooler? can it be done and if so how?

 most people see yassa as stu (owner of the zed) unless they have seen us at a meet so its easier to post from that perspective.

but back on topic mikey... as your a mechanic do you think it will work?

I want to see a picture of the 340 drift car. I learnt to drive in my Dad's 340, so have a (slightly strange) soft spot for them!

thats what i was thinking as a 3.0l v6 twin turbo must have alot more oil pressure than a 1.7 NA.

nice! Is the engine standard?

yup not much to do to them really. everyone seems to do transplants. i may be putting a tubular manifold on it but thats about it and oh i forgot to mention it has a pretty much straight through side exit exhaust and sounds aewsome. pops and bang like hell on overrun :D

Using an oil cooler from a Z is fine but Im not sure if you would have a suitable external oil feed pipe on the Volvo you could use though.

A popular setup is to use a aftermarket Oil filter adaptor with an inlet and outlet for an external oil cooler. THe same sort of filter adaptor people use to fit Oil pressure/temp gauges.
