Wondering if you could do me a favour, I want some Tein S lowering springs and inderstand you have a set on your car.

I dont want to buy them to find that my 17 year old standard springs have sagged to the height of the Teins anyway.

So could you measure the distance between the centre of your hubs to the top/middle of your arch for me so I can see exactly how much they a set will lower my car.

Thanks mate :duffer::duffer:

ahh the joys of being subbed lol

you dont just get the benefit of being lower with new springs, but the whole ride will be much better

As above, it's not just about the height. Also, springs settle over time. Mine are much lower than when I first fitted everything. So much so that I need to get my geometry checked. THEN you have the joys of fitting adjustable camber and tension rods. I can do it, but you need to mess about with stuff and wait for it to settle out.

thats exactly the ones i enquired about... they are not the same as simons! look at the specs.. -10mm front -5mm rear. the z1 s techs are -35mm front -21mm rear, a huge difference!

the camskill original article had the 10/5 figures in the title but the spec in the write up was the 35/21 as per z1... i assumed it was just a typo in the title as the parts lists iv seen for the z32 dont offer a 10/5 drop in the s techs. luckily, i phoned them to get them to double check... he phoned his tein supplier in japan to confirm the figures @ 10/5, it was then that he editted the rest of the spec sheet to read 10/5. does seem bizarre though, the spring rates are exactly the same!

i nearly fell into the same trap myself, i'm glad i mentioned it now so you didnt waste ya hard earned :) of course it could all be a big communication mix up... though he did also say that according to his tein parts list, the specs for the z1 teins do not exist :confused:

the z1 springs are what they say though as simon can confirm and is a good aggresive drop.

Ah I see, thanks for that glad I made sure too now, which springs did you use Joely?

i bought some chassis dynamics avo springs from dan@dta... they are listed as a 35mm drop all round but i think the rear is slightly less as the arch clearance sits perfectly level... if it was a 35mm drop front and rear the rear would look too low and imo look silly.

they are a very good price for what they are, the comfort levels are perfectly bareable and makes the car, what i would class as, very 'streetable'. i think performance wise they will be 'as' good as the tein s techs.

ignore the rideheight in my sig as that is lowered on eibachs (and lowered some more with photoshop!... notice how the front arch clearance sits higher even after i tried to sort that on ps ;)) the picture below shows the stance with the avos, as you can see it has an even arch clearance (which the likes of eibach pro spring kit etc dont give). also bare in mind that i installed these with brand new kyb agx so if your putting them on old oem shocks it could be considerably lower...
