My old JDM is about ready to meet the big crusher and go to zed heaven, however I don't know what the procedure is :mac1:

The car is a cat B so has to be crushed and I need to be able to prove it has been. I am right in saying that the local council can take the car and stamp the v5 for you? Roughly how much will it cost me to get it crushed?

Cheers for any advice.

Dave

any scrapyard will give you a destruction certificate and pick it up for free:cool:

my mate paid £50 to his local scrap man and he collected it and supplied a death cert when it had been crushed. the same at work with this new scrapage scheme. Dont know what rates scrap people charge now a days tho to collect.

Just had a thought (quite rare for me!) The car won't be a rolling shell as I'm having the rear sub and goodies off the front as well. This won't cause any problems getting rid will it?

if it was about 8-10 months ago you would have had about £100 aswell:wack:

no

I was thinking the same regarding taking suspension and stuff off - do they just come along a drag it onto a trailer?

Usually they would use a hi-ab to grab the car and lift it onto the back of a trailer.

yep they do around here;)
