I would reccomend forgetting about 6x9's and fit a set of 6.5" components instead with tweeters at the top of the doorcard. Better sound and easier to fit.

Then you just need a sub in the boot to fill in the bass.

Ok, i shall check out that size. What ones would you recommend mate. Dont want tweeters on show though as i want it to look stock. My car has that nissan acustic zoom what ever that is (are those tweeters)?

6x9's look far from stock, they stick out a long way out of the doorcard.

Tweeters look pretty good IMO if you fit them correctly - Flushmounted inside the door card.

Totally agree with Dave.

Also, no point in having the tweeters down in the speakers like 6x9s, better to have them closer to ear level than on the floor!

My 6x9's don't come out any further than the original units and the shape of the original grille is just right :smash:

This is usually what i see when people fit 6x9's

attachment.php?attachmentid=10881&d=1116187587

And they get knocked by people feet when they get in and out.

but even if you can hide them between the door panels, they still dont offer as good sounds as components do.

There were 3 pairs on ebay when I bought mine a week ago. Any speaker will do but you need to watch the depth because of the possibility of catching on the window glass.

if they do happen to hit window on the depth you can get away with mdf spacer baffles rings cut to size and shape to pull them forward not sure exactly how deep will fit behind the door card. I have to make a set over the weekend for my new focals so will post up how thick the baffles are

Thats a good idea but really want the stock look. But i suppose if the spacer is not to big it will look fine. Good stuff
