anyone have any dealings with these, im not into auto motors but ive been enquiring about a 2003 audi RS6 (crash damage) and didnt realise they were all auto, are they all tiptronic aswell

 

anyone driven one, i would imagine they are quick, any views on them

A decent auto box in a powerful car should be better than a manual; Mercedes and BMW (with the biggeer engines) always quote faster acceleration figures for their autos with tiptronic over the same spec manuals.

 

Not sure about Audi though - I know that the DSG 'box in "lesser" models has a flat spot and is slower than a manual.

Although with the "RS" spec models the autos are most likely faster....

thinking of putting a cheeky bid in, its up for £8500, gonna offer 6k, will have a sleep on it and decide tomorrow

was in my mates 400 bhp zed, and we saw a rs6 grey approach us very slowlyy, after exchanging glances, both cars took off, my mates zed was already on a low gear ready for it, we kept up with him from 40-60 and then for some reason he left us silly, i honestly think that the guy thought the zed was standard and didnt put the pedal to thefloor, but when he did you could really tell the difference from the sound of the engine and his exhaust. he did have an after market xhaust too.

got a tiptronic in my bmw 5 series i really do love it to bits i dare say i prefer it to to a manual box gearchange is ever so smooth and so easy to drive, i did have a go in the audi S6 when they came out and they were tiprtonic i was hooked from then on RS6 rule matey the ultimate machine is it estate or saloon most of them are estates
