Well was heading down to Mikey Beans this morning, set off at about 3am on the motorway. Drove about 50miles and........bang, smoke everywhere, couldnt see a thing, hazards on and onto the hard shoulder.

Phoned the RAC who sent out a contract company who have impounded my car the F***ing twats. Told me they cant deliver roughly until about tuesday.

So im phoning the RAC to boot there footballs as i am a full member and paid for the car to be taken to its destination, not to be stuck in an impound for 4days. Really really getting worn down by this, everything sjust testing my pacients with the zed now.

So anyways i have a car sitting in a crappy impound with alot of expensive rebuild equipment in it.....not happy!!

thanks guys.

Mate this is a god send blowing up. Now you have to sort it asap and its going to come back sooooo much better. All will be good mate.

It was always getting a rebuild mate........was drivign to get it done so i wouldnt say it was a god send having it blow up on me.lol.

But yeah im 100% confident Mikey will make it so much better.

Sorry to hear about the car. Worth keeping though because it is one of the better looking cars about.

I dont want to scare the pants off of you but........A friend of mine had a simular thing happen with a RAC contractor and when the car was delivered all the boot install was gone. they only had the car over night though. He went mad but couldnt prove it was there when they recovered it. :x::slap:

make sure you give it a thorough check over before signing the RAC release sheet. Have seen a lot of Z's damaged by recovery trucks, especially when lowered with widearch and other fibreglass kits.

Im not actually going to get to see it.......its mikey bean.......so ive text and begged him to give it a check over before signing and ensuring all of my expensive parts and boot trim etc are still in place.

thought duffer and jimmer and jeff was doing it:wack:...goodluck anyway mate and if this fails then call in a priest to exocise the fvker;)

Well due to me working offshore i can only put it in at certain times.....which some people couldnt accomidate as they where booked which i understand, so i searched around and mikey more than knows his stuff and does his own so hes been more than helpful so i fully trust him and hes infromed me of going to do his utmost to get it done.

pmsl:rofl::rofl::rofl:

im sure mickey will do a good job, i just hope he knows enough of the ins and outs of a zed, my bro in law says the general layout of an engine is more or less the same but its the little bits that cause the prob like fuelling, boost leaks, pipes in wrong places wiring and so on

lokin forward to seeing it back on the road with a new lease of life

have seen worse jap lol, have ya got engine out then????, what weling need s doing, rust on the wing was mentioned in my for sale add

must say, mike was advising me on h0w to repair the bottom end and knew his stuff, really lookin forward to the end result

remember to change the flywheel over if ya change the engie, one of the best mods i done

Tread carefully Mickey Bean, these engines are mean mothers to rebuild and don't take prisoners on the smallest of faults, they just fail and cost loads of money afterwards. You say that this is your first engine rebuild !! and a very public one too. Good luck matey.

good luck with it ,just just compleated mine just waiting for manual conversion and put it all back together and hopefully thousands of cost free driving (yer right !!!)

tbh its not rocket science, when we rebuilt our first zed engine i was sh1tting myself and my dad just said its like any other engine just more pipes LOL

as long as you get the basics right is torque figures etc then you cant go wrong, unfortunately as we have found over the past on this club you get alot of people who have a day job, rebuild their own engine and think they can be a mechanic!! its a skilled job and you need to be trained to do it.

Na mate....mikey was available to do the job for the times i had to get the car in. Plus knows what hes doing = good pic to me:D!

.....once completed. nothing short of perfect will do.

That's what I like to hear.

Good luck.

Me and mikey had a large discussion about this re-build before agreeing for it to go ahead and ever since it has hes been very helpful and has insisted he will sort it all out.......as in for looking underneath the car for rust etc i have a quick picture.....alot of surface ruff, just need to get her on ramps and rub her down abit before getting undercoated. Justnot got any kind of ramps for myself yit.

end of the day...........everybody who has done a rebuild had to start on someones...
