another problem i have noticed today is, proberly 50% of the time the car is driven the red light with hicas seems to be on???

am i right in assuming this is to do with traction control or something similar and this light shouldnt be on??

especially as im only driving slowly around rural roads, why would this light be on??

can i sort this out anyway???

Featured Replies

It's nothing to do with traction Control, as the Z32 doesn't have it!

It's Four Wheel Steer, so simply check you power steering fluid level, and top up!

Steering wheel on straight ?

The Hicas system will throw an error and shut down if the wheel is not on straight after a couple of miles as it thinks you have been travelling in a constant turn and realises something is wrong.

Or if you have an aftermarket non hicas steering wheel boss fitted.

Hicas compatible boss's are available from traders on here ;)

sorry for the newb type questions but, if i do need to top up my steering fluid, how do i check the level and what kind of fluid should i use??

dan

the level is checked by the float in the reservoir, as for fluid, sorry don't know. my advice, get the hicas gone, better without.
