took my car to a recomended garage, seem to be crap.

they coudnt bleed the clutch,

but the worst is this....

im getting the car ready for MOT, coudnt find the windscreen washer pipe. looked everywhere, coudnt see it.

i had the front bumper off already, traced the pipe from the washer water tank, i remvoved the wing, traced the pipe,

it had been conencted to the balance bar!

now correct me if im wrong, but water in the intake plenum/throttle body would have killed my engine!

luckily i didnt have water in tank or squirt them

Your kidding.......... if its was attached to the balance bar, it would have been to the left drivers side, which should be a breather pipe on a manual balance bar, so where is the air pipe now,

1. Windscreen wash in the balance bar would cause all manner of probs, from soaking all the coil packs, let alone dumping water into the zorst system, then the O2's woould be fooked too.

You say you hadnt any water in the bottle, thats very very lucky.

Name and shame mate.

I know next to nothing about engines but even to me that sounds really dumb!!! Where did you take your car mate? I think it would be good to name and shame so no one else takes their pride and joy there to be ruined too!!

South Wales? I need to know who. Name and shame

its only a small garage ina small town i live,

the existing pipe isnt there, which i can see.

reason being, the engine is from my manual TT,

and its gone into a Auto NA shell.

so ive had to blank certina un-neccessary things off, (EGR, carbon canister, the odd breathers here & there, re-circs etc.

ive checked all the pipes several times to double check.

in the garage defense, there are a few pipes in the corner, EGR solenoid, standard things etc, so there are about 3 things there, careless i guess.

but really could have been fatal.

these cars you need to know what your doing with, luckily im pritty good with jap cars (had a few, and learnt lots and lots from the forums & doing jobs on them myself)

yep fatal error if you had tried to wash the windows...it has been posted on the forum before some years back if i recall

lucky escape mate

Maybe they thought it was some sort of 'water injection'

I own a garage, sometimes these sort of things happen, luckily for me ive had my head screwed on (so far! lol) But when you employee people you cant keep watching over them 24/7, so sometimes they do some daft blooday things!! lucky escape anyway mate.

fookin ell i cant believe what im reading!! bleedin ell if youre not sure where a pipe goes you dont just stick it on anywhere!!!
