Welcome. You can get a swb slicktop which is basically a 2 seater coupe, also get a 2 seater targa.

YEs they are known for rust, around the sills, arches tail lights, underneath.

Ideally a nice cared for jap import would be your best bet but they arent alwasy rust free.

I have a well cared for uk spec tt which has had the sill sreplaced and any rust cut out and replaced.

i just thought a uk model would be a lil better, for sum reason i cant trust jap imports (am i being silly??)

also arnt the uk models cheaper on insurance?

UK models are ALL 2+2

Insurance ok UK models is a bit of a myth. A little easier, but not always cheaper. I pay £280 fully comp on my JDM. Less chance of rust on JDM cars as the Japanese roads aren't subjected to the salt that UK ones are.

Welcome :)

Yes your being silly ;)

The Majority of Z's in the UK are Imports. Spec wise there is very little difference between Uk and Import.

UK models do suffer with corrosion becuase of the amount of time they have been subjected to our Winters and Salty roads, whereas Imports tend to be like new underneath when they come over and usually with lower mileage. Ofcourse if an Import has been here in the country for a very long time then its just as vulnerable to rust as a UK model.

LWB(2+2) = 4 seater , longer wheelbase

SWB(2+0) = 2 seater , shorter wheelbase

All UK models are LWB TT Manual.

Imports available in pretty much every comination of LWB or SWB, Twin turbo or Non-turbo.

So if you want a 2+2 TT then you can have UK or Import, but any other version and it has to be import.

The vast majority are Targa roof and LWB, but the rarer SWB was also available in even rarer Slicktop(regular roof - Lighter, stiffer) and full convertible (summer cruising) versions.

Welcome mate, japs are usually in better nick, due to no salt on roads, however there are decent UKs around, if they have been looked after.

Depending on the series model, mine is a UK TT Manual, 94, have both front seats are electric and heated, plus not restricted, and its passed its MOTs no worrys.

Where in Sussex Are you???
