And when converting from the standard side feed to top feed - how are the new injectors generally secured in the head?

Any info/experience appreciated.

Anyone have any experience regarding the last part of the question?

Im not sure I've ever seen anyone convert to top feed injectors. All the aftermarket injectors and rails for the VG are sidefeed.

Hi Matey - Seems (at first look) pretty easy to me - fuel rail is about 30 squids a metre and connecting top feed injectors to a top mounted fuel rail via Braided and AN fittings seems a breeze.

One could fabricate a new lower fuel rail a lot easier with top feed injectors like this

Or just use top feed injectors and mount the fuel rail on the top of the engine like this - as mentioned above:

Using this system will require some fabbing of injector clamps I assume.

Any thoughts?

Someone, Lymon I think, posted a home-made top-feed setup a while back, but I can't find it on the search now?!

Top feed are cheaper... yes they use a different spray pattern - but different does not mean bad right!

The alternative is a 300degree fuel rail for £300.00 squids...

I think I might hava go at this - I have most of the bits laying around - just need the fuel rail so...

I did it a few years ago.

the balance bar and injector caps need to be "modified"..but other then that it is pretty straight forward and works very well if you use good quality hoseclamps and fuelrails

easiest option is using/finding a set of fuelrails from a Z31 (previous model 300ZX)

other option is using a universal fuelrail and welding feeds to it for the injectors

I looked at this but a top feed injector is around 45mm deep. The rails would be a pain to fit under the plenum and may have required machining of the lower inlet to get the injectors lower for clearance. It could be done i imagine with a bit of trial and error.Would make a hell of a saving.Top feeds are peanuts compared with sidefeeds.
