Scratching my head a bit. will these wheels clear my brakes?

who knows?

seems as though this may be a risk, i dont think there is anyway to tell :(

I want to buy these ultralite nurburgring wheels 9.5 et20 all round, the spoke design looks as though they may touch my brakes......

anyone have these fitted with the 9.5 front and can tell me how much they cleared the stock brakes?

btw if anyone mentions anything about them rubbing my arch with that offset i will shoot you. :nono::p thanks

Jimmy, why don't you phone them up and ask the dimensions. they should have a spec sheet for them.

hmmmm, i did ring them today but forgot to ask... im not sure if id be able to make any sense of the dimensions tho, its all a bit daunting. the spokes are never straight they always curve in or out, Well i might aswell try :nelson:

There are some replicas on ebay and iirc some one said they wouldnt clear the stock calipers :(

Stunning looing wheel

cheap chinese copies on ebay, probably have really fat heavy spokes and a small offset, u got a link maybe?

im also buying a set of rotas with r888's :D

have you won the lottery and not told us

I have these wheels and they'll clear stock brakes and 350Z/GT-R brakes without spacers.

I now have a Brembo GT brakekit (355mm rotors) and needed a small 8mm spacer to clear the calipers

hi lymon, yes i did notice your brake fitting posts yesterday.

what offset wheel did you buy for the front and width? im after the 9.5 +20 which is suppose to be quite rare now but more aggresive. I also noticed the ultralites you have are different :P i checked ya rides section, you have the 5 spoke design am i right?

I have fitted 996 porsche calipers on 328mm discs which are a bit fat so im worried.

well i just learnt something new today, speaking to the ultralites people they told me every wheel has an x factor measurent which basically means how far away the hub face is from the centre of the spoke. the 9.5j et20 has an x factor of 58mm which is massive so i can use this to calculate the clearance from the caliper to the hub face or something like that. :D its looking promising.

> what offset wheel did you buy for the front and width?

I'll have to check.

I think it's the 8 or 8.5 +20

> you have the 5 spoke design am i right?

the 5 spokes (twin-5's) are on my other Zed.

I also have the ultralite nurburgrings

my rides section needs to be updated ;-)

you better get updating then coz nosey guys like me need to see what other people are doing ;)

et20 is to big an offset for a zed anyway as it will push the wheel close to being out of the arch, may just be ok but means it will clear big brakes no problems but your main problem is 9.5" which is just too big you will catch the tyres with that width and offset i think so i would look more at a 8.5" front and 9.5" rears.

i know the guy at ultralite in preston and i the wheels are very good as i had them on my zed but with black centres :)

bang bang your dead.....

im running a 8.5j et12 at the mo with a slight stretch tyre and i have about 1cm of space from the arch the et20 9.5 will push the wheel out only an extra 5mm and with a 255 tyre it will be slightly stretched also. It will fit ;) i have rolled arches which are slightly flared now too. i like to take risks anyway and be different.

btw there are guys in the US running 10j fronts with 295

but doesnt that mean your going another inch further out but your going back in 8mm with the offset which in my calculations makes that 17mm further out than your currently have already LOL could be wrong which wouldnt be the first time but i was more concerned with rubbing on your inner arches but this could do both

best be would be to go to the ultralite place and try them :)

lol its a bit confusing... heres an offset calculator: http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

try it out.

when the wheel is larger by one inch it goes out each end by 13cm coz there is 2.6cm in a inch.

so for example if i replace my 8.5inch et20 rim to a 9.5 et20 it will stick out of the arch a further 13mm and be closer to the inside strut a further 13mm.

now if i change the new 9.5 wheels offset to say et30 it will stick out only an extra 3mm but be 23mm closer to the inside.

if the 9.5j wheel was et10 it would be the opposite to the above it will stick out 23mm more and only be 3mm closer to the inside.

now basically my current setup is 8.5 et12 so if i run a 9.5 et20 its only an extra 5mm outside but be closer to the inside 21mm.

Would just like to add that I have 8.5 front wheel with 245/40/18 tyre with et30 offset I have no problem with clearance with the caliper but I do get some rubbing on half lock.

maybe you should have gone for a 245/35/18 or a 235/40/18
