At last its done, Jimmer managed to squeeze me in and do my clutch yesterday. I have had the boost turned right down to try and stop it slipping and been driving like a one legged, one eyed vicar. Boring, boring. Now......its 'turn up the volume' well actually its the boost I turned up and typically I left Jimmer in bright sunshine and with in 5 minutes it started raining, @#+*&$%. drove home like a one legged one eyed vicar. The weather forecast for the weekend is looking OK so a quick burst with 21 psi being applied will be the order of the day which will hopefully blow away my dog collar. Thanks Jimmer, sorry about the soldering.:hyper:

haha.. its amazing what a difference it can make when you are used to it slipping! Sure you'll get some nice weather over the weekend for a 'play' ;)

Hi John

So what does the z look like now?....anything like it was before the accident, colour, bumper etc

Are you about at the weekend John? Would quite like to experience 21PSi. I might be popping up to see Auntie Murtle.

unless you have some fancy twin/triple plate carbon clutch, you do know you need to run/break in a new clutch for approx. 500km ?

if you don't you probably need a new one within a year, because it will start slipping again...

I'm a pensioner so it will get run in, no probs.I will only be putting 21 psi through on the odd occassion not all the time, 15 to 18 is enough for me, above that and my pension book starts screaming because of the fuel I am using.:)

what make of clutch did you go for ?

Hi Pete, a bit dissappointing actually as I wanted a RPS Max which was originally fitted to my car and was a bit heavy but great function. Getting one these days is not easy, believe me. Since then I have had 2 clutches, both were rubbish and lasted less then 3-4000 miles. The 1st was a Z1Motorsport track clutch and the second was an ACT road racing clutch. I have now got an Exedy clutch which is supposed to have additional lining fibre to alleviate the heat and lessen the chance of slippage..........we will see. Personally I would get an RPS from the States or go for a paddle clutch, speak to Jimmer his has been great but does feel different to a normal one.

Hi Dave, Its still black but now with a 99 spec front end, I am pleased with the repair and can certainly recommend the bodyshop who did it.I have taken some quick potos but not what I call 'proper jobs' and have thus not posted them up. I had a running issue which was beginning to wind me up and turned out to be a faulty chip. Thats now behind me and of course a new clutch in place has refreshed my enthusiasm, it can be driven properly. If the weather picks up a decent photo session will be the order of the day and an update of my rides. I'm sorry to see you selling up Dave, but I can appreciate what money pits these cars are, plus the added pressure of the taxman.

Sorry Simon, I missed your post as a last minute decision was made to go down to Devon for the weekend. We must get together so you can give her a go. Murty seems very quiet these days, it must be his job causing him stress, or that Zed of his.;)
