PLEASE HELP!! Driving home from work tonight stopped at lights when a 206 GIT rolls up and invites me to play on the dual carriageway, i happily obliged. What then happened will stay with me forever! the car came on boost in first then just died in second, no power whatsoever. 206 disappears over the horizon....... Anyway pride aside, the boost gauge now wont hit maximum and its probably moving around the same pace as my work lorry! any ideas? any help would be MUCH appreciated.........

thanks very much for the info mate i'll have a look first thing, here's hoping its something simple(cheap)!!

Had the same thing with a tdi cupra, foot down bang no power pipe off, he's in for a surprise next time bloody cars

Smoke could be tubby on the way out or pcv valves.

i had the same with a kangoo van (not that there is much power to start with!) 1.5dci 60bhp, blew a boost hose in the outside lane of the motorway and im not kidding it just stopped. 80 to 45 as if i didnt have my foot on the throttle and 45 is all it would do.

Was interesting getting it back home and then to glasgow, lots of hills on the M62/M6/M74 lol

Hope you get it fixed soon!

ok so i stuck my head under the bonnet at first light and couldnt see any loose/disconnected pipes or wires, so i left it to idle until it was warm and had a listen for any nasty noises or hissing sounds and nothing, took it for a pootle out of town and hit the loud pedal on the dual carriageway, FAST AS EVER, WHAT THE F*!K??!! Anyway thanks for all your input but a good rest seems to have cured it.............for now!

did you take the nose panel off and check the pipes and vaccuum hose attached to the bov/recirc ? just in case.

I crawled under the front with the aid of a jack and some serious breathing in and the dump valve pipes seem nice and tight, i have bought a set of PCV's to hopefully try and cure the occassional smoke on idle issue, but im now thinking it might be a tub on its way out and thats why i lost boost last night? Still no smoke under load or nasty noises though, think i may need professional help!!
