On two occasions when the Z tried to accelerate on the ice track one wheel was spinning.

I thought all Z`s had slippers.

If the diff was knackered then that would explain why a manual twin turbo was available for £1500. Or am I completely wrong here?

Sorry, I should've stated FRONT tie rods earlier....this is getting silly and I apologise for any confusion and my original mistake that HICAS turned at slow speeds...I really thought it did! - anyways it obviously doesn't.

and I have extra front lock (smaller turning circle) via tie rod spacers as per:

Mystery solved

P.S. Love your car Si, hope I haven't come across as a too much of a dick:nelson:

Peace

LOL, no you haven't. I usually come across as an obnoxious dick! Surprised you didn't tell me to feck off TBH!

Still unsure as to how tie rod spacers would change the turning circle. You'd need to change the rack.

They allow the rack internals to move further in the rack body so giving more steering angle.

You turn the wheel more.:D

Its the inner ends of the steerings rods that cause the rack internals to reach the end of its travel. You add spacers onto the thread of the inner end which allows more travel. Obviously you have to adjust the toe afterwards as adding, say, a 3mm spacer each side will mean an extra 6mm of total toe in.

Oh right, I understand. Not seen inside the rack itself, so couldn't picture it. Could do with a mod like that myself!
