my father wants to buy a LHD 300zx to take over to portugal as they are too expensive there, he has a RHD there but now wants a LHD to register and keep there. thought of converting his RHD to a LHD but probably too much work and money and might not even end up being done properly. I check that website sometimes as its a Portuguese website but as you say they are too expensive e.g orange one on there has 85k miles with a broken engine and still wants 10,000 euros = £8500 So anyone that knows of a cheaper LHD 300zx for sale please let me know. Thanks

Are you portuguese?

I was thinking of sending a couple of them down, but rang a couple of mates that live there and they say alot of people wouldn't buy them coz costs a fortune to register them as portuguese.

Yup, im portuguese. are you? (when i read you username seemed quite familiar lol) Sending what LHD 300zx? i would be very interested if you could get me a LHD one :D

yeah your friends are correct they do cost alot to resgister there, when i dad sent his in 2002 it was 4000 euros now its upto 8000 or more if im not mistaken. (spoke to a guy yesturday wich is sending a 2006 BMW 520d and its gona cost him 8k, problem is now what counts is all this Co2 emissions crap, so the 300zx will be more im guessing) But there is another way of registering the car without paying that much. My father was going to register his there but as its a RHD he just thought there would be no point. so hes no looking for a LHD and keeping the RHD for parts.

From the states.

im guessing the price of buying one there and then shipping it back here then resgistering it would be quite expensive. prob not 1as much as 16k + euros lol

2nd problem is were looking for a LWB Twin Turbo and in the states only 2+0 (SWB) came with the Twin Turbo engines if im correct.

where keeping an eye out in france, belgium, germany and belgium see what we can find.

Thanks

I am form lisbon but been living in northern ireland since 1999.

Sepouse I was dreaming high bout sending 300's down because of the register coz otherwise i believe people would still buy even being RHD the dif in price is massive!

Lisbon hey, never been there to be honest with you, im from up north near porto place called Povoa De Varzim. Been in London since 1990 came here wen i was only 2 lol.

Sending down 300zx wasnt a bad idea but the cost of registering them is just stupidity. They put very high registering prices to stop people buying cars abroad i.e germany, belgium etc... where cars are half the price. and if you do take a car back now you cant sell it on until six years have passed. Poruguese goverment is gong crazy lol.
