Anyone ever fixed a leaky water pump? I noticed a trickle out of mine last week and decided to investigate. Now my beloved Z is up on axle stands with the radiator out and I can't get the crank pulley off!

Is it possible/advisable to use "sealant additive" on this engine? I tried a "de-sludgeing" additive last year and it punctured my heater matrix.

Thanks all.

Lymon is spot on replace the pump,

Not sure why you are trying to get the crank pulley off, you can get to the water pump without removing that ! Just get the neccesay accesory belts out the way. Sorry i can't be more exact but you deffinatly dont need to remove the pulley.

Thanks guys, but...

can someone tell me how to get at the water pump without removing the crank pulley?! I've had a good look and can't see how it's done. The bottom (metal) section of the timing belt cover is in the way...

It can be done without removing the covers...you might need to bend the bottom-cover a little here and there to get access to the bolts holding the pump.
