Cheers, will be giving it a swerve then. But was always told that imports are set to run on 100 RON and I have been using the shell optimax plus a octane boost additive, should I just not use the additve and just run on the fuel alone?

V-power or BP Ultimate etc will be fine on their own.....

Richard:)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I have read on (i think) "Robo's info" that "Toulene" is one of the best additives to up the octane rating if added in the correct percentage. Now, i believe that toulene is a non-abrasive cleaner but works well to up the RON rating. I have this, in abundance where i work, should i use it? Is it ok to use? What do you all think?

Al.

imports will run fine on 95, there are loads on here that do it and never have any probs, i choose to run on 97 for no reason whatsoever apart from that im a petrol snob, whatever you do dont travel 20 miles out of your way to put in v power, it will run fine without it.

If you have chipped and boosted it you may need 97 as it can cause det and will kick into safety mode.
