Hi all again, just a little question about auto boxes. sometimes when im driving a long at say 35mph and i plant it the box doesnt change down to say 2nd it goes to 3rd which then it takes so long and slow to accelerate i have to select 2nd manually to get any steam? the car is ok at motorway speeds kicks down fine and at say 20mph drops to 1st etc but it seems when i come off islands or driving at 30mph etc? p.s. the box has no sign of slipping, changes up fine and you can hear the kick down relay working. any ideas?

Check the micro switch on the accelerator pedal, with engine off press the pedal down and listen for a click sound when the pedal is down, the bracket that holds it is quite weak and can be bent out of shape. Even if you do get a click bend the bracket up slightly so the switch activates sooner.
