just changed S1 Ptu to S2 PTU.

 

i have relocated it to next to the fuse box behind the passengers headlight.

 

i made sure all the temp senders do not hit the fan aswell.

 

only problem is i am so worried about it not starting or perhaps sending a stray spark near the fuel filter that i cannot bring myself to turn the key.....

 

wuss i know but are there any actuall dangers. and providing the S2 PTU works, should the car start first time?

S2 PTU's NEVER!, i repeat, NEVER fail, there has not been one case on here or anywere else of a S2 failing.

ok but how likely will my car start first time and can anything bad happen? i keep watching bad films and i always get it stuck in my mind my car will explode when i turn the key.....

what worries me is that alot of wires go near the PTU and i worry about short circuits

You ever heard of wire insulation? It's what all the wires in the engine bay are covered in! LOL

yes but not much near the clips on the PTU and not got any on me until tomorrow and i really wanted to hear the girl run...... except i', worried it will either not start or i get thin n crispy

drink a lot on holiday did we! you`ll be fine ya wally, if it helps muppet that i am, i managed to bridge the battery terms with a spanner once, that was like 5th november right next to the filter.TURN THE KEY or if you`re really worried get the missus to turn it n run!

i was thinking of getting her to start it while i shift indoors :-(

on a side note i went to turn overhead lights on..... nothing... no power

well it ain`t going anywhere then. no just the connections probably. just a thought, you did insulate the ptu from the body didn`t you, not getting weird earth or owt
