My spoiler looks all distorted it a 92 uk TT, are they supposed to be painted as it looks like its warped, also when i lift the boot it drips, any suggestions what spoiler to buy, as this one has mastic all round it also where i lift the boot it looks like there is something missing as there is a metal plate bang it the middle looks nasty.

The original oem spoiler was made of rubber and was renowned for paint fading /eventual flaking , leading to water ingress (you should see mine :o)

if you like the oem look you can get a Fibreglass replica from Z centre

take a look at there site > http://www.zcentre.co.uk/shop/index.php?cPath=21

Chris :)

*EDIT*

mine was sprayed just over a year and a half ago and is now starting to flake badly

i want to keep it looking stock as i think the Z is gorgeous as she is, although i'am not slagging off modified ones as they do look nice as long as its subtle. thanks again.

looks the same as this, but mine dont have the gloss black strip where it says nissan & twin turbo, just got a metal plate right under the light, does the strip sit flush with the lights as mine looks like it would over hang them if i was to put one on. http://brianpostma.tweakdsl.nl/pix/300zx-back.jpg

The black strip is merely a transfer and the stickers sit over top , I’ve seen some that don’t even bother with the black strip and just put NISSAN / TWIN TURBO on after having the spoiler painted etc

personal pref i suppose and agreed i'll be sticking with the stock replica spoiler i like the look !

yeah they are nice spoilers but mine is all distorted and the top bit dips in out its all over the place paint is'nt flaking just looks shabby. my panel under the rear lights is all faded and the paint is cracked like a dessert foor lol so i'll spray that while i change spoiler. are the spoilers easy to remove.

Yep , it's on my list 2, but gotta finish off service work first, then on to the bodywork ! :)

here's a good guide on spoiler removal ;)
