idea for you guys.....why not partition your hard drive and set up a copy of xp on the new partition...then just boot into xp next time you want to run consult...leave vista as your main /default os....xp shouldnt take up too much space not with todays hd's

Hi Anthony & Ste,

I've already PM'd Ste about this but will put down the info here as well.

The ConZult diagnostic software should run fine on Vista - this has been tested and passed. Unfortunately I have no access to my PC at the moment (see other thread in Non-Z related chat ref: PC crash) so can e-mail out any drivers, etc.

Having said that, if you bought the equipment directly from me you will have received a large CDR with all the diagnostic software on it and also a small CDR that came with the USB-> Serial converter. The small CDR will contain the drivers for both XP and Vista.

ConZult has been tested and is fully functional on Win98, ME, 2000, XP and Vista.

Once I'm back up and running I will be able to help more. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Regards,

Dan

i run conzult on me laptop with vista no problems, only thing had to do was get a adaptor and software to use usb port.

Hi Dan,

I will check when I'm home Thursday but it is a copy from you, I can't remember what's in the box altogether.

In the box I have a Conzult disc, small disk called driver + user guide (transfer series) plus two cables and an adaptor

Is it that small disc that will solve the problem?

Not me might be someone else!

Still can't get it to work, the software is from you Dan. The small disc only has 2000/2003XP and win98. Conzult won't load, all it says conzult.exe has stopped working. Please let me know what you can do as I need to get it running to finish the car.

On some laptops that don't have an internal comport the cable (or actually the USB converter) needs to be connected before starting the conzult software.

It seems you have such a laptop.

But first follow these instructions:

plug in the conzult cable + USB converter that came with the conzult.

Laptop/ PC will detect and install the driver for the USB converter (if it hasn't done so already)

if not, it will ask for the USB driver: insert USB driver disk and install the driver manually.

(in most cases, the XP driver installs fine within vista)

Once the driver has been installed and the USB converter is recognized by the operating system, start the conzult software. (make sure you leave the cable/usb-converter connected)

Go the the settings menu within the software and select the correct comport (this will be the comport that has been assigned to the USB converter...usually COM10 or COM11)

connect the other end of the conzult cable to your car and see if the software works.

if the software/laptop seems to hang after selecting some of the menu items. (eg. power balance), then there is a problem with the VCP latency setting.

Here is described on how to change this latency setting:

Hope this helps.

When I click on engine and it tries to connect to ecu, in yellow in the Conzult box says something about eccs

When I click on engine and it tries to connect to ecu, in yellow in the Conzult box says something about eccs

go into the conzult options and change it to com port three and check the box like in the usb set up guide.

:D

I managed to sort mine and it works fine now!
