Batteries I'm talking about ;)

Well the battery finally packed up on Eliza last week, so I couldn't start her (obviously) and the search was on for a decent priced one that was the correct size.

Easy you say!!..... NO I say!!

Eliza is a JSPEC, so she requires a 096 type (terminals to the rear, + on the left & - on the right) Last time I bought one I had to have two pieces of 2x3 wood under it to jack it up so that I could use the battery strap (it was a fairly adequate arrangement for five years!) This time I wanted the correct height, so first place PARKERS..... too short and £90 inc! Second place LINCO Also too short and gain £90 inc! Just popped into PARTCO this morning and they have the correct height and full spec and all for only £75 inc!!!!

So how come if it's stated as a type 096 battery some are too short? Surely a type spec is for all of the battery, ie; dimensions and capacity?

Seen that before, somebody posted links to different batteries of the same type and they were listed with different dimensions.

btw - Jap and UK use the Same batteries

oh..and pretty sure its 068 you want. The 096 is about an inch shorter.

I thought the terminals were the other way around?

Nope, same. Definatly. I know it used to be posted on here a lot in the past that they were listed different for Jap and UK, but the mix up was infact between the Z31 and Z32 (the battery catalogues are incorrect).

Terminals definatly the same way round on all models. At the back with Positive on left and Negative on right.

dead link bud...got any other contact details for them?

Try Google : Battery Megastore

BTW , I think I might have bought an 068 , it doesn`t say on the invoice and my car is two streets away ! .

All I know is , I did a search on here ( Dave will like that ! :p ) and got the most recommended one .
