I'm curious about your spec after hearing you are running the same turbos as i will be.

I have heard allot about those turbos. All good things, was wondering how you find your power curve?

I can't really see my car taking much longer than 3 more weeks.

This is my spec i will be running.

blimey, that's quite the shopping list you've got there. Really does look like you've bought every aftermarket part available for the 300zx!

Specs are quite similar, though I have had some "issues" with the person building my car up. I visited it last week and though not where it should have been progress wise, it wasn't far off either.

It'll be on my drive this week with MOT and I'll share my results with the board once I get it mapped.

:D Well after being disapointed last time i got it rebuilt and then for it to go tits up as it did next time round had to be a better spec.

So you have not driven it yet with those turbos?

Mine is exact the same, progress is very very very.. slow. weeks turn into months now its a year.

This is the SZ-EXP90 / 3071R Turbo's ?

Very interested to see your results and feedback on these. Biggest turbos on a Z as far as I know in the UK and they seem to have a excellent reputation for quick spoolup considering their size.

those are the ones :D

I also have 2.5" IC's and pipework to go with them :)

Cool which one is that?

The TDM works front mount or the Ash side mounts?

I currently have an Greddy front mount, pretty big. not sure on the piping size. Not sure it would be worth changing. would i really get a noticable difference to justify the cost.

Cool, I'll have a butchers on Saturday then :D

Ash spec. Should be able to compare the results between our setups as that's one of the few big diffs.

There's a few things you have that I don't - but main performance ones are that you've got larger valves, tomei cam gears and 3" catback (I went 2.5" to keep noise down but still have 3" downpipe/testpipe).

fingers crossed!

Yeah sure thing.

Would be good to have something to compare to.

There is always room for improvement no matter one you do and have been toying of the idea going with a different intercooler setup.

I'm changing the engine management to before. I did have the Aem but were going for a Link this time round.

i would stay away from the link ecu, i know a member on here who had one and its now been removed as it was rubbish!!

CJ was running a Link i think.

My mate is running big power on his supra and is very happy.

I guess allot of it is down to the mapper.

I just didnt have the best experiance with my Aem. It didnt idle very well, couldnt trust the car as it would peak, stall and just randomly cut out at low revs normally when pulling out of junctions. its was running rich on two of the injectors. My brother also had a Aem on his RX7 and experianced similar issues to me. Although were both mapped by the same guy Dan Turner. Then both our engine go pop.

So trying something different this time round.

sounds like a mapping issue rather than the choice of ECU

sorry but sounds like the mapper didnt have a scooby doo mate as the aem is one of the best ecu's around, i know loads of people who run massive power with the aem, my zed ran perfectly with the aem??

also i believe that link do not do an ecu for the zed but can make another one work which is where you get issues, if its not purpose built for the zed then steer clear bud ;)

James I really hope you get it sorted soon after all you have gone through:headvswal

Fingers crossed its alive and kicking for the Summer.

I had a link g2 engine management. Very good, i know a guy in the midlands who tunes and maps to these systems if your stuck.
