Hi guy's

 

Just to let you all know I have just started useing a new paint system from the States. It means I can now apply a full chrome finish to any surface, even plastic. So I was thinking what I could use it on first. After seeing some of the attempt on chroming the front lights I thought I would have a go.

As it happened I had a spare pair of lights, so this is how it went.

 

After opening up the lights and stripping out the insert. A light rub over and then the base coat was layed on.

 

Then the chrome efect

 

A couple of layers of lacker and a polish and...

 

Its a little hard to see the reflection through the glass but I think you can get the idea.

 

I left the ring around the lams as a bit of contrast and I quite like it. What do you think..

Not really my thing on stock lights, but that's a lovely finish! I am sure the guys wanting the 99-spec inserts will be crawling all over your ass for it. :duffer: Would look great on that! :bow:

Superb buddy, i always wish i'd swapped them off my purple zed to the silver one.

 

You'll have to put up prices/where to go as si says i'm sure a few people on here ordering the inserts will be calling up :)

These look good but if you want the black that heavy you will loose the reflective ness and it will look like paint

Not too fussed on the reflectiveness, just want that super deep rich glossy chrome finish. Any chance you can do a black chrome trial?

so how much then to coat some 99 JDM headlight inserts in black chrome? got any pics of a black chrome finish?

have you tried painting a whole car in chrome??? i know its been done but i think the zed would look great in chrome! or black chrome,....

 

but as for small parts, inserts, cam covers etc i think i would be interested if you start doing then for the club!

I think it may be a little to hot. It is rated at 250f The plastic cover would be ok but may be not the plenum it self
