Hi there all,

Bought some Evo8 calipers off flea-bay. Seen some of you guys have fitted these already, do you have any pics or diagrams of the mounting brackets I will need to get made?

Have a metal bender at work gonna try and get to make them for payment in beer.:dance::dance:

Want to get these made asap so its all ready to go on the car when the calipers arrive.

Many thanks as usual :bow::bow:

How much of an improvement are the evo brembo's compared to stock ?

Well i fitted them with 350z discs...and trust me, they make one hell of a difference!!! wave bye bye to brake fade after excessive braking which i used to get alot with using my old stock calipers.

How much do the evo 8 calipers go for these days?

I got a set for £120 with half worn pads, didn't think that was too bad.

I paid £200 for a pair of evo 9 calipers that had only done 10k miles...and that was almost a year ago, credit crunch an all that has obviously brought the prices down quite considerably!!!

I'll be selling my brackets and discs soon as i am upgrading to bigger discs yet again so i'll need to make new brackets to suite my bigger discs.

good job iv refurbished them, both had seized inner pistons.....:D

here are my pic's and drawings there was a slight measurment change, can't remember what it was, it was the distance between the holes

I think those are the measurements i gave to the guy that made my brackets, they fitted perfectly...only thing i changed was that instead of tapping the back plate, i had the guy just drill a 12mm hole and i used nuts n bolts.

Just like to also point out that if anyone does want to go ahead with this conversion you will need to modify you hubs where the stock caliper bolts to it...there is a lug that needs to be cut off with a grinder or hacksaw (if you dont mind the arm ache) as you will see in krsmayo's 1st and 2nd pictures it fouls where the bracket sits so needs to be removed...after that though all will bolt up hunky dorey. All you need then is some brake lines made up to go from nissan to brembo. (think if i remember correctly the nissan fittings were different and also the pipe needed to be longer). I made my own braided lines for about £20 so its not megga bucks to do.

Would be interested in these when your selling them.

I got evo 8 calipers, IIRC evo 5 and above went to Brembo's would'nt like to say if all the same size though?

A noticable difference in Initial bite and less likely to suffer from brake fade. They are bigger than the GTR setup and cheaper too.....definatly the set to go for on a road car for all round performance and value for money.

Not really suitable for hard track driving though, they will overheat and warp discs, which is why EVO owners are always selling them for Bigger brakes.
