Hello all

Sorry Steve! I bought a longlife exhaust recently and have Greg Dupree divorced downpipes and 2fast2cool decats.

Its just too loud sounds like a trumpet rather than an exhaust at low revs.

What can I do to fix it?

Cheers all

Ron

Thanks for the tip Si! :slap:

It actually sounds awesome, I just need to get used to it, when I'm labouring the engine its pretty bassy but I took it for a major hoon and it really did sound the nuts. So I'm happy again.

Just different from my old one. I need to learn to keep the revs up and not be lazy with the gear stick!

in my experience.. it's like all the "custom" jobbys are extremely loud.. powerflow.. longlife.. they mustn't put as much "stuff" in the baffles.. if you want to quieten it down.. only thing i can think of would be open it up and put some more "stuff" in.. which Is a nightmare and I wouldn't recommend it.. or put another silencer in the line lol...

my old white zed had 4" greddy pipes on it was a lurvely sound. When it was decatted it sounded boomy loud and very annoying. stick some sports cats back in line and sell your decats

That sounds like good advice. I might get longlife to see if they can knock some up for me.

Hey mate thanks for that but mine are ovals

Apexi do a valve that goes between the cat and cat back exhaust. it will stay almost closed decreasing the diamiter inside the pipe so sound is minumal . then when you put your foot down they will open up so you get no restriction

around £130 each iirc?

I think I'll just learn to live with them

I would agree there. Far too pricey to be worth bothering thought they would be few hundread quid for the pair at most
