I'm going to fit 5 new gauges to my zed :smash:; Boost, oil pressure, water temp, air/fuel ratio and volts. However I have a few questions.

1. Can I just connect the water temp sensor wire from the gauge to the left hand temp sensor at the front of the engine?

2. The oil pressure gauge came with a sender, according to the instructions I need to get a sandwich plate thing that goes between the engine and oil filter. The sender then screws into that. Is there somewhere else I can fit the sender (thread size is 1/8" NPT)? Apart from up me arse! If not, can any one recommend a place to get one (ebay link, etc.)

3. The AFR gauge sensor wire goes to the ECU o2 connection, but there are two of these on our lovely cars! What's the best way to wire this up? Is it possible to get an average over the two sensors, or do I have to put a toggle switch in to switch between left and right sensors?

4. All the gauges have a dimmer/+12v to dim wire, that according to the instructions "connects to headlight to activate". Which wire do I need to connect this one to?

Think that's the lot..lol

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated

Cheers

Dave

Maybe Wrong but what i believe are the Correct Answers!

1. Yes, but your Stock gauge will no longer work! Buy a Small Water pipe Adapter, Slice it into a Water Pipe plonk your sender in there and you have Dash 1 working and new Gauge!

2. i just bought this 1! EBAY CLICKY Havent fitted but they Sell Gauges so im sure will be fine! Has 3slots (Not 4 as said) So can fit plenty in there!

3. Not To sure! Probably as you only have 1sender goes to 1 02 Sensor! They should be equal anyways so will be fine!

4. No Clue :)

Good Luck

Munny

Hi mate i'm also thinking of fitting the gauges i bought a short while ago , i'd send that seller from Munny's post above ^ a message i'll be ordering my stuff through him tomorrow

Chris :D

DO NOT BUY FROM THAT SELLER.....

The oil plates have no seals on them and WILL leak the oil every where.... there was a post about it a while back, i ordered 1 and sent it back and got a Greddy one instead.

Anyway answers to the questions...

1. As Munny said..

2. As above PM me.

3.you can connect it to either, as said they should read very simular, if not get a 3 way switch, (on,off,on) or a 2 way (on,on) so you can toggle between the 2

4. The right side pod.. open it up there is a blus and white cable at teh bottom right hand corner on the bottom plug, link into this one, its the headlight on off wire.

Just as i was about to order them , pm on the way

Thanks for the link, think i'm sorted now though,

I did phone my local demon and the chap asked me the make of the gauge's , told him they where just Auto gauge

he said never heard of them:shock: :wack:

No Worries mate, Glad you're sorted! I had autoguage guages in my last car and they seemed to work OK bt of a PITA to fit though... Not the best but quite good either way!

I have to admit to never having used demon tweeks myself but I'm not to surprised, they seem to be liked by the Halfords Saxo crew though so maybe that's a clue lol...

Next time I think I might go for mechanical guages, alot of people seem to recommend going down that route... any thoughts apart form them being a nightmare to fit!

but yep thanks reckon I’m sorted now

Chris :)

i have a mechanical oil guage, ran the small copper pipe up where the bonnet cable goes through, and it connected to a blank just above the oil filter
