I'm thinking of purchasing a genuine I-Pod, but am wondering if there will be a problem loading albums that I already have on my PC and that have not been bought through I-Tunes, anybody know?

 

Also, would I be making a mistake buying an I-Pod, is there another decent make out there, that members can recommend, that is VERY easy to operate/search/load etc AND a a better price.

I'm not interested in one of these I-Pod look-a-likes that are all over e-bay, I've already got one of those and the battery lasts about an hour at the most, and the menu system is so shite!

All your existinhg music will go in to Itunes without a problem, when the software is installed it will ask you if you want to search for existing music on you pc.

 

Download Itunes 8.1 as a free download and load it up to check then buy your Ipod if your happy.

 

Got to say I love the itune software its so easy to use. I have a pc in my HiFi rack running through a flat 37" Lcd pannel TVwith all my music on, so I dont have to have all the discs to hand. That has taken all the clutter away from the house.

also if you download additional music after you have installed itunes you can add more through the file>add file or folder to library, really easy, could also use this if you dont want to put all your existing music into itunes from the start.

what i dont like about tunes is if you delete any songs/albums of your PC and it deletes it off your ipod you must leave all albums that are on you ipod on your pc.

I have a 500gig hard drive and only filled about 60gig of it.LOL

Thanks for all of your help. Well I'm looking at a 30Gb iPod Video in black, as they don't do large capacity ones in red :( hmmmm 7500 songs, should be enough ;)
