Ok guys, I am sure there's plenty of you on here that have proposed to your better halves. Just wondering where you lot asked the question. Weekend away or something boring! LOL.

 

I'm going to Venice with Maddie in June and was thinking of asking her whilst on a gondola ride.

 

She knows she is going to be proposed to already, so she won't be put on the spot!

 

Anyone else in line in popping the question?

 

She might be coming to Japfest with me in May, so no silly comments to her! LOL

suppose its about time i 'popped the question' been 8 years now so im practically married to the ~**~" anyway!

For us it was on a moonlit beach in Abu Dhabi. Did the whole "down on one knee" thing with a hideously expensive ring bought from the jewellers in the Hilton where we were staying (that she'd coo-ed over earlier that day).

 

Didn't plan it in advance as such, just decided to do it after she spotted her "ideal" ring (heart shaped diamond) in the afternoon and after having dinner in a restaurant on the beach in the evening it seemed a good idea! :D ;)

I proposed in the car park of the Little Chef at Chiverton Cross service station on the A30.

she asked me once if we should get engaged, i bunged her some cash for a ring she had seen and got me leg over, job done, am planning on doing it properly this year as she is moaning on about getting married, looks like a marrige abroad and a ig party when we get back in the next couple of years

well we got stuck in poland after flight home was cancelled..no money..cards didn`t work.. no where to stay. But i did have the ring and wanted to make it memorable so after managing to borrow some cash and tagging along with this gay couple to a `hotel` which turned out to be old communist apartments complete with original furnishings..don`t ask! lol I popped the Q. Celbrated with bread,ham, dodgy fizzy orange and a couple of hundred mozzies. Oh n the gay couple! Then all the furniture started falling apart..ah memories!

LOL yeah - maybe not, but it was romantic (she says) and we're still together nearly 14 years on :)

i proposed to my other half in the small hours of xmas morning right after midnight, we opened our presents as we normally do just after midnight as we have a busy day with my nephew ect then told her i had something else for her and went into the room came out in a full white suit, shirt shoes the lot, asked if she had a nice xmas so far then got down on one knee and popped the question, getting married next october abroad

........earlier that day whilst window shopping on the Champs Elysees, she spotted a discreet white gold solitaire ring in a jewellers and commented on how "one day" that would be her ideal ring. Well imagine my relief when I realized it was identical to the one in my jacket pocket that I'd bought in the UK a few days before the trip:rofl:

 

Needless to say she said yes..........

I didnt propose as such. It was valentines day and i said come on then lets get a ring for that finger. which we did job done :rofl:

I cant imagine doing the traditional thing, its not me.

But you have to remember its more for her than it is for you so you want to do something she will like rather than your prefference.
