Since comming back from an mot today I could smell a strong smell of petrol, looked under the car and found that it was dripping petrol from just behind the sump, cant notice anything from under the bonnet, they must of pulled something off by accident, it stops dripping when engine is off but drips when on, any ideas? I will get him to fix it when it goes back in on thursday.

sounds to me like its one of your short fuel lines between either the damper and rail or FPR and rail leaking, causing fuel to run down the back of the engine.

quite a common place for the fuel lines to go

Is it an easy fix from under the car?

no chance, if the leak is further down then yes, the fuel line and return runs passanger side along side of the hicas lines...

if it is the small fuel pipes then its easyer to take the plenum, although you may be able to fix it with plenum on....

if it is'nt the fue lines than it might be the rail its self. i would check the lines first, if no joy then, take the plenum off

Well i have found the leak, its beneath the engine cover middle injector on the right, the aa will be taking it to the garage of my choice and will be paying for the work to be done, I think the plennum has to come off but i hope not.

Got the car back, my mechanic diddnt have to completely take the plenum off as it was just an o rong beneath the injector, he had to slide the plennum over a bit to get at just one screw, he only charged me £40, well happy.
