Just done the exact same and found out the hard way that a manual loom does not plug into an auto car even though you have converted it! You will need an auto loom, i am just about to get this from Z1 to replace the 1994 manual TT loom i bought!

If you have new style injectors you can then buy the injector connectors and splice it into this loom.

mine as the auto loom on it and runs ok but one sensor is left with nothing to plug into it,

think its the neutral switch when pull up it revs around 2000 for couple of seconds,

if i cant change it i will leave it.

did you change it yourself,

i done it outside me mums house on the floor took me couple of days the box is bloody heavy when your lyeing down on your back ha ha

good luck hope you sort yours

got to take engine out to fit turbos got stage 2 turbo technics to go on it another mission

I had a manual conversion done a few years back and I have pulled the engine for a rebuild and i'm going to replace the efi loom. From what your saying I need to buy a auto loom instead of a manual? Why can't I use a manual loom?

Cheers,

Ant

Phil has just put my manual loom into the car and discovered, if i remember correctly, there is only 2 plugs on the loom that go near the passenger side fuse box (i have no idea what they are but sure someone will enlighten me!) instead of three that is on the auto loom. There are three plugs that should have something plugged in to them! The loom that has just been fitted is a 1994 TT Manual and the car is a UK automatic that is being converted to manual.

I need to find out asap as I have placed a order for the manual loom the other day and may need to change it before it gets sent out

Hey guys I have a manual conversion with an auto loom. but a manula loom would have done just fine. The third connector by the fuse box is not needed once converted. Will work just fine IMHO

What is the third connector for then? I dont want to have any issues once the engine is back in and would like some more information. Anyone?

Can you tell me what the third connector is and what it does? If it is unnecessary i will leave my new manual loom in the car. But i need to make sure it will be ok. I dont want to remove it if it doesnt make any difference. But i will order a new auto one and splice in new style connectors if it is an important plug! I am sure ANT_300zx would like clarification also if he has a manual one on order.

Hi mate, I emailed coz at conceptzperformance and asked the same question, this is his reply

On a MT, you can either use MT or AT, on the AT you can only use AT. So if you converted, you can use the MT w/o any issues.

Hey guys I spent ages trying to figure out what the third connectro does but the manual is pretty thin on info. All I can tell you is that mine is an auto conversion and it has no third connector attached and it works just dandy. HTH

Cheers mate, I got the loom from coz. I will be leaving the loom in the car now which will save me ordering an Auto loom. I talked to Phil today and he said that the spare plug goes into the fusebox. I will try to ask Jeff TT to see if he can shed any more light on it!
